Electronic Gaming Retail News is a subscription-only magazine/newsletter covering the video game industry. It was targeted at industry executives, and as such was not marketed toward the public, making it arguably the rarest publication Sendai was ever involved with.
History
It launched to coincide with the Summer 1991 Consumer Electronics Show, which was the largest trade show for video games at the time. Subscriptions were available for free to qualified industry members, including company executives, advertisers, and magazine (or fanzine) editors.
EGRN was the first regular periodical in the US devoted to the console game industry. However, it didn't last long -- its last monthly issue was February 1992, and after that it became semi-annual, available for free at CES and serving as a guide to the show, similar to today's E3 Show Daily.
