Bloodborne could have made major money if it released for other platforms. But 10 years later, it didn't and now you can almost emulate it.

Admittedly I have no idea what it takes to be considered successful these days, but supposedly the game has sold at least 7.5 million copies, so I'm sure it made a decent amount of cash.  And with Sony owning part of From Software, it makes sense that most of their games would be Sony-exclusives.

I would agree but several of their popular games like Armored Core VI Sekiro, Dark Souls, and Elden Ring were released for PC as well. A look on their home webpage and Bloodborne is the only exclusive banner there. Those sold well so I don't know why they would choose not to do the one with the most popularity. Conversely, because it is the most popular?

Majority stakeholder Kadokawa, I am sure would have a say if they felt it could bring good business. Even a limited exclusive should have been appealable to Sony. They know there was demand from fans several years later.

The specific emulator I mentioned for PS4 is basically is known for getting Bloodborne to a playable level with some tweaks. At least that's how I came to know of it.

I'm sometimes surprised any Japanese games ever get released for PC to be honest.  Not that the fact that the PC barely even counts as a gaming platform in Japan should matter, since common sense says that any business wanting to make money would try to reach international markets as well, but this is Japan, which sometimes seems too focused on looking inward.  It would also make sense for them to make their mobile phones compatible with networks in other countries so they could be exported or even simply capable of being used overseas by Japanese travelers, but they don't do it, and thus their own products struggle to compete with international brands like Apple and Samsung, even within Japan. 
 

But I'm not their accountant, nor privy to their business dealings.  The probable scenarios are either:

A: From Software are a bunch of fools and refused an opportunity to significantly expand their sales

B: There were reasons I'm not privy to that made it make sense financially to not invest in developing a port for a different system

If anyone working for From Software wants to chime in and set the record straight, we're waiting.

FS had no problem bringing every souls game except this and demons souls (an IP Sony also owns part of) to Xbox and beyond.
