I've gotta side with Mike on this one. Pretty sure Blood is just quoting Russell. The original wins.

I'd give the prize to marktrade for having the classiest reference, but it loses points since it makes me feel uncultured for having never seen Casablanca.

Areala's link to those Blood quotes also has a Casablanca reference ("Here's not looking at you, kid").

Damn fine movie.

I'm sorry, I thought this was Amer--uh, a video game website. :P

;)

This issue really shows the difference between American and Japanese culture. There is comic in there that literally shows a naked girl. Imagine if that happened in an issue of EGM!

It's very crudely-drawn, and it's just a shower scene angled from behind. Some of the NextGen issues I recently uploaded contain double-page ads for Virtua Tennis that show fully-naked men in a locker room.

You're right - the content of that comic is definitely nothing that doesn't appear time and again in comics and cartoons made for children.

Which is not to say that stuff NOT for children doesn't pop up in game mags - but usually those are focused on PC games. For whatever reason, Japan has never really had a market for domestic PC games. It's the complete opposite of the console scene - most PC games here are imports from America or elsewhere. About the only original content Japan produces for the PC are visual novels and porn games, so if a magazine is covering the Japanese PC gaming scene, it's inevitable that some NSFW pics will make it in.

Actually, there are several magazines being published that cover nothing BUT porn games, while there are currently ZERO mags covering regular PC games as far as I know. I really wish there was a filter on yahoo auctions to separate the two so I wouldn't have to skim through dozens of pages listing adult PC game mags when all I'm looking for are ones covering regular games...
