I know I have a copy of Gamefan #1 and I believe I also have a copy of Tips & Tricks #1 somewhere in my boxed collection. I'd be happy to scan them but if taking the spine all apart is a requirement then I'm afraid I won't be able to do it. I love what everyone is doing here but I can't bear the thought of tearing apart my copies.

If I remember correctly, Tips & Tricks #1 has Raiden from Mortal Kombat on the cover....

No its totally not a requirement, I do so to save time, and only on issues that are "Perfect Bound" , If I remember correctly GameFan Issue 1 is stapled together, so it should be a snap to scan. Even if its not .....scan it the best you can....we would love to see the first issue of Gamefan :)

Yes, you are correct, issue #1 is stapled together as are the first 8 or so issues. If I remember correctly I believe I have the first 5 years of the magazine complete. I have a huge collection of magazines that I have kept since I was a kid. I would have to guess that my collection consist of close to a 1000 magazines, no joke. I put them all in order chronologically awhile back and them boxed them all up for safe keeping. Here's some highlights of what I can remember that I have:

EGM = almost complete to current, I am missing about 10 issues from the first few years.

Gamepro = almost complete up to about 1996 when it lost my interest, I am missing about 10 issues from the first few years

Gamer Republic = I have about a years worth including the 1st 5 I believe

Xbox magazine = every issue

SNES Buyer's Guide = about 12 issues

Mega Play = about 12 issues

Nintendo Power = around the 1st 10 years complete except for the 1st issue

Official Playstation Magazine = almost the 1st year complete

Official Dreamcast Magazine = several issues

Next Generation = ENTIRE COMPLETE (my pride and joy after Gamefan, I sorely miss this magazine)

And many, many more that I can't think of right now. I'll try to get up into my attic this weekend and see if I can locate my box of Gamefans for you all and see how I can do with scanning the 1st issue. This site is absolutely amazing BTW, good job everyone.

Well I am going to be scanning EGM Issue 1 this week. So keep your eyes peeled for it. I only own about 3 Gamefan issues and they are all around the 95-98 era. I tried bidding on GameFan Issue 1 ($25) and the damn thing sold for $75 which is crazy!

As for today I scanned the second Issue of Game Informer......but again....some older GameFans would be awesome! :)

I'll make it my mission this weekend to locate my Gamefans and attempt to scan issue 1 for everyone. :) BTW, $75 for issue 1 is actually cheap. I watched someone sell the 1st 5 Gamefans on Ebay once for almost $400!!! Hence, my reluctance to tear apart the spine but also they're relics of my childhood.

That sounds great!

I've heard a lot of good things about Diehard Gamefan, and I actually got 3 issues from a friend a while back.

But I've only quickly scanned through them once. I'm anticipating reading the very first issue.

Oh and Philly, you can add Mean Machines issue 1 to the list as of today.

The posty just delivered it, and it's in absolutely mint condition as well.

I look forward to seeing the Nintendo Fan Club issue as soon as it's complete.

I am keeping my eye out for it, There was a buy it now one for $89 but thats BS......Its only worth $60 in my mind. After I get the first issue I am going to sell the entire set of 7 in 1 auction on ebay :P
