Space Invaders Extreme!

Ok so over the weekend I started playing Space Invaders Extreme for the Nintendo DS. Now I grew up on these games......I had the Atari 2600 with Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Defender ....etc. I dont remember being into Space Invaders.....Asteroids was more of my game. Plus I loved games like Combat and Outlaw. So back to my point, This Game Rocks! The music is up tempo and keeps the adrenaline pumping, its probably one of the best remakes of a game I have ever seen. I highly suggest picking up this game for the DS or PSP if you have a chance to!

You get different power ups in this version, Blue ones give you a big blue laser that can clear entire columns, Red ones give you exploding shots, and Green ones give you a spread laser. But just because you get an upgraded weapon does not mean you are going to find this game easy! I am stuck on Level 4 right now!

I'm so looking forward to this. It's coming out over here in about 2 weeks and I have a preorder down for €26, but I'm eyeing another site which has Arkanoid for DS for only €19 as a preorder, so I'm thinking when the Space Invaders one goes up there it might also be €19. :D

I don't know. It really depends on what kind of gamer you are.

I've noticed that arcade games tend to be described as shallow experiences that never last long and are easily forgettable.

For instance when Crazy Taxi came out on the DC, most publications said it was a great game, but that you'd get tired of it within a month.

Well we're almost 10 years further and I'm still playing it with just as much excitement as I did when I came home with it from the store. :)

Ive been meaning to get this. Im a real Space Invaders/Galaga/Pacman fan, every time I got to the NES store (Haha, thats what I call it, the NES store) I play Ms. Pacman on the Arcade machine. Same with Galaga. My friend got this and said it was better than Guitar Hero: On Tour and GHOT is the best GH game so I WILL be checking this one out some time soon.
