Transformers

Now's a wonderful time to like giant robots. Heck, there's three different styles of toy on the shelves (the Movie is going out, the new cartoon is in, and they're having a line of original characters re-imagined alongside). As well, the new movie was a hit, and the new cartoon is incredibly popular.

So this is just a general transformer thread. They've been around for nearly 25 years, surely there's a lot of fond memories, favorite characters, "I had this one toy" tales, or just general mullarky worth discussing.

My favorite Autobot was Hound (the green army jeep). I always liked the character, and jumped for joy when I heard that they plan to update him this upcoming year!

I'm old schhol and don't like any of the redesigns that have been done. I like how the originals look, and like the original cartoon. The movie last year was pretty good, but a big reason for that was Peter Cullen doing the voice of Optimus Prime again.Had they chosen someone else, I don' think I would have liked it as much. It's too bad Frank Welker's voice aged too much to play Megatron, and that Chris Latta was too dead to do Starscream. I think had most of the character voices in the movie last year been the originals, I would have loved the movie even more, and I think it would have been a much better movie than it already was.

I always preffered Beast Wars, Somehow Transformers was not my thing.

I never really liked Transformers since I grew up with Fox Kids stupid anime ramkes with 3D Robots in 2D worlds. I thought it looked horrible.

It really did. Because you get awkward animation loop of legs just "gliding" over the scenery.

Nothing can touch the old G1. These crap cartoons they got now ain't worth the rust on Megatron's rear end. Oh god did I just say that?
