What Was The First Mario Game You Beat?

Super Marios BROS (NES)

Still got a picture here, taken the first time I rescued the princess:)

Oh, and I think I've never even played Mario 2 on my NES. I did

play it on the SNES when I rented the All Stars version, but if I'm

not mistaken, it was the only one I have not "console" beat.

I know for sure that I beat it, the All Stars version, but I was

playing on an emulator, so that probably will not count :)

Super Mario Bros on the NES. World 8-4 was hard as hell.

I'm not saying that 8-4 was tough, but I remember having way more trouble on 7-4.

I've never figured out how to exit the "maze".

SPOILERS BELOW! (I think hehe)

I was talking to a friend about that some weeks ago and he told me that a little sound

effect was played whenever you went to the the right path, but I have never confirmed

that. I must play it again some time and check that out.

Super Mario Bros on NES, many times - although I'm hopeless at it now.

Since then I've been through (in order)

Donkey Kong - game and watch

Super Mario Bros 2 - NES

Super Mario Bros 3 - NES (a couple of times with the whistles, once or twice by playing through every stage without using clouds - difficult!)

Super Mario World - all 96 exits - that special stage where you repeatedly blow up into a blimp is bloody hard!

Super Mario 2 Japanese - SNES - I actually managed to finish this once through on the real console (ie no emu save-states), but never made through the second play-through for the proper ending. I can't even finish the first stage now.

Super Mario 64 - finished it on console, but only got all 120 stars using an emulator and save-states

Mario and Luigi - Superstar Saga - GBA (via DS) - how I laughed!

Super Mario Kart

Mario Kart 64

Mario Kart Double Dash

I sort of lost interest in the 3D Marios. I loved New SMB on DS for the first few worlds, but then I gave up and haven't gone back to it for about 11 months now.
