20 Years Of Nintendo Power

I thought I would just mention this in case anyone was interested. I was at the grocery store today and saw this sitting on the magazine stand. It's another kind of useless magazine by Future using the Nintendo Power name but at the same time this one is actually worth buying unlike the Wii Buyers Guide 2008 and 2009. It's got history on all their consoles with lots of references from old issues of Nintendo Power.

It's funny though... I know Nintendo has really treated the Virtual Boy as the black sheep of the family but Future will continue that tradition. In the time line they have the Virtual Boy at the very end with no release date and barely any info on the system. It was listed under Other Systems which basically was for the arcade Ultra 64 unit and the 64DD.

The magazine is $10 so I guess you have to be a real fan of NP to even bother getting this.

Sounds interesting, especially for a Nintendo fan. As far as getting shafted on something for $10, I remember buying the 2 Game Player's Encyclopedia for $10 back in the day and realising it was just a reprint of the articles from the previous year or so of their Nintendo Player's Guides. That is shafted.

SERIOUSLY...the Virtual Boy was not THAT BAD. At least Nintendo was trying to push the envelope. I mean it even had a Wario game that was a lot like Paper Mario in the Foreground vs. Background kind of way. YEARS ahead of tis time. Yes...you were stuck hunched over a tripod and quite possibly burning your retinas...but still. Can someone please show it a little love.
