14 year old girl arrested for texting in class read the full story at Gizmodo:

Not sure the cops were needed. Just call her parents and send her home. Then give her a 3 day suspension. She was ignoring the teacher's request to stop texting in class. Of course I did go to school in CA, so things might be a tad different here.

Well for one things like that are not allowed in class so she should have listened in the first place. When she refused I can't say I blame them for calling in the cops. They didn't want her to get away with being a lying witch. I know too many kids like that and all I want to do is smack them.

What happened to taking the phone away at the first offense and going to the principals office. Why is a cop paid by taxpayers to fight "crime" required? They could have just kicked her out of school for a few days too.

The only thing I can figure is that the school is trying to cover their butts over any kind of lawsuit that could possibly be brought up by taking personal property like a cell phone or whatever.

I second that. We all know the damage a greedy lawyer can do. Specially on the US
