Holy crap! I don't know if I want to read it. Is it canon though? I would only consider canon something that came from the dev group.

Technically that would be the original cannon. Everything else would have to be retcon. Think of it as the original Superman story. Superman has had several retcons which rewrite his history. Heck, DC rewrites their universe every so often. What you see in the Sonic Bible is the original cannon and how it went through several revisions to get to its final form. I always like the handwritten comments on things like this. I just picture a very serious conversation about why Sonic's shoes should be red and how he got the shoes. Let alone that they can withstand him running at the speed of light. The whole time not worrying about the fact that he is a 3 foot hedgehog....
