The Slam Heard Around The World

Yep, you will finally get to recreate the Andre the Giant vs Hulk Hogan match from Wrestlemania III come March 24th when Legends of Wrestlemania is released. Of course you can do more than just that but for now try out the demo on PSN and Live.

Read more at Gamepro.com about what other matches and possible characters will be available.

Yeah, I have been watching this game for a while now. Too bad they can't get Randy "Macho Man or The King or Bonesaw" Savage in the game. That would just make it perfect. I am still not sure how some of these characters qualify as "Legends of Wrestlemania" I guess Legends of Wrestling wouldn't work as well. You can NOT convince me that Sgt. Slaughter and Big Boss Man (although great characters) ever qualify as a "Legend" for participation in Wrestlemania. Weren't they both in only one wrestlemania event?

Same with HHH....um, apparently it doesn't take much to become a "Legend" anymore. Remember when you had to retire or die for that honor.

Still, I will go download the PS3 demo when the wife is done teaching in the other room.

LOL - I had totally forgotten that the Mad Hawaiian Crush went 0-4 in Wrestlemanias :P

P.S. Razor Ramon would be awesome. Razor's Edge FTW Chico!

Didn't the Razor get all coked up and do the Razor's Edge on someone for real and like paralyze them? I could have sworn I saw that on the news not too awfuly long ago

Not sure about that news article about Scott Hall, I do know that he has battled various addictions in real life for years.

I was going to download this demo yesterday since I have been watching this game since I first heard about it, but you have t o be a gold member to download it right now. Animals.

Now that the WWE and Randy Savage have patched up their little fued, there's a chance he could be added as a downloadable character at some point. I am almost certain they will release downloadable updates to this game.

Same with HHH....um, apparently it doesn't take much to become a "Legend" anymore. Remember when you had to retire or die for that honor.

Apparently you only need to marry the right woman to become the biggest legend to ever have stepped into the squared circle.

Seriously, he doesn't deserve to be in that roster whatsoever.

Same goes for his "career" right now. It's just a bunch of BS.

He's basically depicted as being unstoppable nomatter who he faces, unless they somehow use an underhanded trick of some sort or they want to put someone over very very hard. So boring.

The new angle with Orton and everything could have been great, but once I saw HHH steaming in the ring for about 3 minutes so that the stage monkeys would have enough footage to cut promos for the next month leading up to Wrestlemania of him being foaming at the mouth from pure rage, it just turned the cheese factor up to that France blue moly variety for me.

Wonder if they will have the same stipulations for the sites and magazines that will be reviewing this game like the previous WWE games.

Meaning that they will have to sign an agreement that they will not picture HHH in any screenshots in a way that portrays him as anything less than the master of the universe.

I love wrestling, but BS like that makes me wish WCW never went down and Bishoff ran MCMahon out of business instead.

I agree with you on most points there, except the WCW thing, if it was the other way around, we would just be watching someone like Hogan doing the same thing (remember he was the mastermind behind the fingerpoke of Doom). Of course some things would be different and we could hope that it would be more entertaining.

Well I actually liked the fingerpoint of doom. :D

But that was because it was deliberately done to let everyone know that Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Scott Steiner and Hulk Hogan had set everything up that happened.

Quite a funny moment and a great way to reunite the old clan.

Just look at how the crowd reacted. :)

Oh and Goldberg is the Master of the Universe done the correct way. ;)

Imagine if Goldberg had done the car window smashing right and joined the NWO the next week on Nitro, as planned (rather than the 8 or so weeks of rehabilitation he ended up going through because he threw down the nightstick he was supposed to use on the window).

Where's Macho man?

Macho Man and Vince McMahon haven't seen eye to eye for a long time, there are rumors over what but no concrete proof. Of course the Macho Man DVD is back on schedule so it is possible that he is going to be a DLC offering for the game. Which would be cool because then you could pair him and Hogan up and recreate the Mega Powers and pit them against other great tag teams they never wrestled.

The game will be incomplete to me until Macho Man is added as a character through a downloadable update.

That is, if this game even turns out to be any good.

I agree, Macho Man is needed to be a legends of wrestling game.

Yeah, remember when no one could stop Goldberg. I would have died for Andre vs. Goldberg when they were both in their primes. I remember watching Goldberg lose his win streak and feeling more robbed then the worlds quickest ten count against Mike Tyson when he lost his belt. *I personaly think it was that quick 10 count that put him over the edge*

I hope that this is better than the last one they did on GameCube or PS2. It looks nice but I have not liked a wrestling game since the N64 days. And that was just one game I can't remember the name of it right now though.

I hope they will add macho man. You really need them for the fights with the Hulk. Now what costume should they add. I say the zebra print one :P

Any costume that includes one of his incredibly glittery robe!

Was anyone else sorta disappointed with the demo? For me, the controls take a lot of getting used to. And some aspects of the presentation bother me, probably because I am very picky about the old school stuff and think it should have been recreated to the tee.

I can't get the PS3 version to download. Kinda sucks since I was looking forward to it.

For those interested in the story as to what has happened between Vince and Macho Man apparently Bret Hart broke the news in his book. It seems that Macho Man was implying to Vince that he would resign with the WWE and even shook hands on it but then turned around and signed with WCW. To make matters worse, he then called Vince at around 4 a.m., drunk and had 'words' with him.

Surely they can get over something as trivial as that when there is decent money to be made.

I read Bret's book a while ago. I just never remembered that part until you mentioned it. Makes a lot of sense. Perhaps Vince takes someones word and a handshake to heart, and might consider it important enough a gesture as to not deal with the person who breaks their word even if there is a lot of potential money. Though time heals (almost) all wounds. Hall of Fame for Savage next year.

Yeah, Vince (even today) is a handshake is just as good as a contract (till the contract is drawn up) type of guy. I am sure they will work something out (look at them inducting Bret in the Hall of Fame, I mean, he has been down on WWE quite a lot over the years).

I am sure Macho is not the only one to do something similar and be let back in the WWE fold years later.
