Remember all the heck that EGM gave Gamefan for being started by Dave Halverson, who also started the mail order company Die Hard Game Club? Imagine how they would react if they were still around with this news.

As far as EGM, from what I can gather from various sources and such, they really had a problem with Gamefan because they were getting their imports from Diehard Game Club and were quite upset when Halverson started a mag too. I am sure we all remember the infamous Atari special where they took a potshot at Gamepro with the lettering and all.

I only read EGM a couple times a year, so I missed that. Another example of their high horse arrogant attitude, it seems to me.

I will try and find the issues that they take pot shots at Gamefan in, of course they don't say it all up front. They said stuff like, at least they don't sell the games they review (hence giving higher review scores) and stuff like that.

It is uploaded here on the site, I believe, it was an Atari special that they paid Sendai Group to produce (I believe that is how EGM got involved) and it ran in at least Gamepro, I remember it running in other mags at the time but can only positively point at Gamepro.
