Edge Article On The Making Of Populous

SOrry but I have to pass this little story along.

Back when I was in middle school my brother worked at an Electronics Boutique. Back before it was referred to as EB Games. Anyway one Christmas I knew my parents had gone out and bought me a new SNES game. Now you have to understand my parents rarely ever bought video games for me or my brothers. If we wanted video games we had to buy them our selves. So anyway on Christmas morning I grabbed the one that was wrapped up and about the size of a SNES cart. I opened it up and I was totally expecting something else but it was Populous. I of course said thanks but in my mind was thinking crap! My mom said yeah we went and bought it while your brother was working and he did a very professional job to help us make this decision.

So again I'm thinking wow thanks a lot big brother. But hey I have a new game I'll at least have to give it a try.

Long story short after that I came to find that Populous is one of Peter Molyneux's best games. Though I did not like the sequils or ports but I loved the SNES one.
