I agree somewhat.  I would prefer they offered both models for payment.  A monthly subscription and a pay as you need something model for people that prefer either (of course that would be a behind the scenes nightmare keeping it all straight I am sure).  If I have to choose one over the other, I would take the pay as you need model personally.  It allows more people to play it and find out if they like it without shelling out money they may not really have (of course, once addicted, they will surely spend more money on the pay as you need model than they probably would with the monthly payments).
