Favourite Unlicensed Console Games

Nintendo in particular are famous for their restrictive licensing policies, particularly in the NES era. Despite this, a number of unlicensed games were released - not that I can remember the name of the publisher/s who got away with this. One of my favourite examples of an unlicensed NES game was Death Race - a top-down car combat game with 8-way scrolling.

Accolade was also famous during the 16-bit era for releasing a wealth of unlicensed Sega Mega Drive games, and EA used threats of flooding the SMD market with unlicensed games to negotiate a favourable licensing deal with Sega, which ironically ensured the SMD/Genesis's success in the US.

What unlicensed console games to other people remember fondly?

Tengen Tetris, hands down. It's superior to the Nintendo version of Tetris in every single respect.
