Quick! Before It Gets Shut Down, Check This Out!

We all know how Square Enix feels about fan remakes of their games, for a refresher check here.  How about Nintendo though?  The only fan game I know of them shutting down was some modification that "retextured" the Super Smash Bros.  Does anyone else know of any?

Anyhow, here is an article on Destructoid.com about a fan remake of the Gameboy original Metroid II.

After more than a year in production (and after a fair share of Destructoid posts about it), the fan remake of underrated Game Boy game Metroid II: Return of Samus is nearing completion. Now, before you go clicking the jump and checking out the recently released third trailer for the game, I have to issue a warning: If you are a retro Metroid fan (and especially if you love Metroid II and Super Metroid), this trailer may give you a stroke.

not in the vids, AV program is Comodo, during the download said it was showing part of a trojan program,just quarantined that part and no problems with the program though.....maybe it's just me...........(I HOPE!)

Yeah I've been watching that for a while now. I love Metroid II so when I found that I was really excited. I downloaded a tech demo a while back and was really surprised at how good it was.

Metroid II for the Gameboy was the very first Metroid game I ever played....also the first one I beat

I never finished a Metroid game. But I think they are all great games. Even the Nes one.
