Sega Returns To Handhelds With Licensed Retro Gen

Sega may be out of the market of marketing their own hardware but they aren't scared to license said hardware out to other companies to sell, they have licensed everything out since the Sega CD (JVC X-Eye anyone?), Sega Saturn (Creative had an expansion card for PC's and in Japan, JVC had at least one licensed Saturn system) and now they have licensed out the Genesis hardware to Innex.

The days of Sega manufacturing hardware are over. But in these days of licensed technology and retro appreciation, Sega hardware still lives on, in this case with the return of the Nomad, Sega's handheld Genesis.

Now called the Retro Gen, and being released by hardware company Innex (who you've heard of before), it's a handheld that will play not only official Genesis/Mega Drive carts, but also "licensed games that have been downloaded and saved to an SD card using a special development cart".

Is it just me or does it look like crazy cheap plastic that will shatter the first time it hits the floor. From the looks of it, I just can not see this as being a good idea.

Yeah both the Gen4 and the handheld have SD slots. That is such a cool idea. The thing I hate about playing roms is not getting the real feel of playing the games but when you play them on TV with Wii or other methods it feels so much better.
