July, the month that America celebrates independence is upon us.  Continuing on in the tradition of taking you back, whether it is good or bad, is about to begin.  Just so everyone knows, this month Bill "The Game Doctor" Kunkel is celebrating a birthday (if you would like to participate in a special birthday gift please contact me or post that you are wanting to help).

On with the show!

July 1999:

In Rome,

Hicham El Guerrouj, ran a 3:43:13 mile, that is under 4 minutes there folks.  Fastest mile ever ran so far.  In movies, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was released, Lance Armstrong makes his first win of the Tour de France.

In Retromags related news, we have the following July 1999 issue available"

You may have noticed that there is no mention of people losing their lives in this post, I think we have had enough losses for awhile announced here and I have chosen to focus on the good things that have happened in history.
