I know I'm early by a couple days, but I won't be here on it's actual b-day (got to go home for a few days for a funeral and I won't have net access)

Sunday, October 18 it will be 24 years to the day that arguably one of (if not the) greatest gaming system is released in the US... :Nes::NesCart::Nes_pad: !!!

IGN is doing an article on the Top 100 NES games of all time: http://www.ign.com/top-100-nes-games/

There are some games on the list that I've never seen before that I'll have to give a whirl. Post your favorite NES gaming moments, vid, and pics in this thread.

:Nes::Nes_pad::NesCart: 24 years of gaming awesomeness :Nes::Nes_pad::NesCart:

I didn't play the NES much back in the day. They weren't that popular in my part of the world, especially compared to machine's like the Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad. Even the Sega Master System seemed more popular than the Nes. I realize that in America and Japan and elsewhere the Nes was incredibly popular but I didn't have a lot of experience of it.

I recently borrowed a friend's NES though and I've been really impressed with it. It's easily superior to anything I was playing back in the day. I don't really know why it didn't succeed more in my part of the world, maybe Nintendo didn't feel they needed to market it that much when it was so successful everywhere else. Who know's?

I've been playing Mega Man 1 and 2 and having a lot of fun. Man, those game's are tough, but I keep going back for more. I'm looking forward to checking out a lot more NES game's too, so that IGN article on the Top 100 NES game's of all time will come in handy.

I can see why so many people love the NES, it's a great console. :)

I'm definitely no expert on NES game's but I think you got most of them right Jake.

I think game 2 may be Ninja Gaiden1 and game 4 may be Chip N Dale Rescue Ranger's.

And I think game 5 may be Castlevania for the NES and game 12 may be Metroid for the NES.

I might not be one hundred per cent correct on these game's though.

Either way, I can't wait to check out some of these game's, they look pretty cool. :)
