The fire still burns! The Firecore classic console for the Sega Genesis not only plays most of your old Genesis cartridges, but is also jam packed with 20 licensed Sega games including, Sonic and Knuckles, Ecco, Sonic Spinball, and much more! The Firecore features a built-in IR receiver to support wireless Firecore controllers (not included), and is also compatible with the Firecore SD cartridge. The Firecore is also built to support newly developed games which use true color technology! It truly is the Genesis? reborn!

That might be a neat console. The price is good and I am curious about the "pseudo-32 bit" compatibility, but I think I'll wait for a bit.

I want to get one of those or the portable not sure.

But did anyone watch the video on that page?

"Alex the Kidd" that made me LOL that's like saying Smokey the Bear

Kidd is his last name not his title. And Bear is Smokey's last name again not his title. Now Yogi the Bear that is correct.

It's because Sega actually gave them the rights to do this.

I remember reading about it somewhere. They made a hand held and a console.

Is that handheld your referring to the re-release of the Game Gear? Cause Toys R Us was selling them a couple of years ago which I thought was weird. I still have a Game Gear around here somewhere that I took apart because I wanted to learn how the screen worked. Two years later it's still in a dresser drawer taken apart waiting to be fixed. I wish I wouldn't do this. I have a Saturn that never worked again after I disassembled it and two Dreamcasts I took apart after the lens died.

Actually, no. It is not a Game Gear re-release, but a portable Genesis, much like the Nomad except it comes pre-loaded with games. Innex is the company that got the rights to make these.

I remember when Toys R Us was selling the GG again I almost bought one. Then realized why?

Anyway the system also has a cartridge slot on it to play regular Genesis games.

The bottom picture this is the officially licensed one. I like the way the top one looks much better but the bottom one uses SD card and cartridge and has 6 buttons. The top one well has built in games and just looks so much nicer.
