This is part of the reason I've downloaded most of the movies my wife owns. Forcing someone to watch commercials every time you view a movie you have purchased is ridiculous. Double-clicking a file to open is much less painful.

Nothing beats owning the original dvd. You get the highest definition possible with all the original fields or frames and multiple audio sources. It looks better and sounds better than a rip. I don't like swapping discs from the tray or the case so I make back ups straight after a purchase and then I can pull them off my server. It's nice to jump around to the part I want as well.

Yeah I liked it back in 1997 and 1998 when DVD went right to the menu so you can just press play to get to the movie.

They don't pull this BS with music CD's.....imagine putting in a CD and having to skip through commercial tracks to get to the song tracks

It's bull in the first place that you have to be subjected to all that when you paid money for the movie in the first place. I know to help stop piracy they should put all that crap on the pirated version and on the one that is bought they should put nothing but the movie and specials. Of course that would never happen but still it was a backwards thought.

On most dvds, you can press the menu button to skip the idiotic ads. There are some that lock the controls until after the ads.
