Selling or just shipping guides based on condition

Recommended Posts

Some are in good condition, some are in average condition, and a few are in bad condition.

I don't feel like going through them atm but if you are interested email me. I will be happy to provide photos of guides to those interested in taking them off my hands.

NO trades, though; I am trying to get rid of these guides, and only want one USD + shipping per guide that is in good condition, the rest I only want money for shipping them to you for.

I am in the USA, so to those who have not done business there before here are the prices for flat rate postage:

USPS

Thank you for your time (and your money, to those interested).

Oh, of course!

That's why I made an exhaustive list of all the guides/magazines, and took some pictures of them. I can't image what more you'd want.

Why is Buy/Sell/Trade forum here then, ultra-conservative Thor? What's the point? Do I have to be a member of the Better Business Bureau?

You: generic defensive response

I was trying to help some of the people here to make a decision, you could have requested pictures of individual guides/magazines, I would have been happy to oblige. But people make their decision at first glance, right.(not I)

The less work we do as a species, the worse off our overall situation is. If you had done your research, you would have found out that only subscribing (it costs money) members of the Free Software Foundation can get an email forwarding address ("member.fsf.org").

Well look at the way your acting right now, you are extremely defensive over something that is so blatantly obvious. That right there makes my point even stronger. If other people want to buy from you that is fine as I stated in my original post, and I quote "For me it's your a new user so I don't have much faith that you will follow through."

I would not send money to anyone that I don't know, unless it's something that is at least protected such as eBay. So get your panties out of a bunch and good luck selling those magazines.

It's nice that you have spent time helping with the group and for that I give you a mighty big THANK YOU! That's awesome. But that is not enough for a judgment of character. Posting in the forums is how we get to know you and there are several people here in the forums that I talk to outside of the forums because we've gotten to know each other. You have made a whole 2 posts on the forum and just joined in February. You want trust then stick around and post a bit let us get to know you. So far 50% of your posts are showing me that you do not have a trustworthy character.

Ok, you're right, I didn't read that you said "For me". I thought you were trying to tell me that one has to be here for a long time just to get rid of some magazines, because I just found these the other day, while cleaning house, and needed to get rid of them. It seemed at the time I read your post that you were telling me to do something extravagant to gain the people's trust here, and I had no interest in doing that. Nothing against you guys, but I prefer the games over the magazines that talked about them.

But I will tell you I scored a nice Palm Centro for well under what they sell for on eBay from someone who only had around 10 feedback. ;)

Some times you can get lucky and I won't lie, I have bought from people on eBay with little feedback only because of deals but they are regulated and I can get my money back if something falls through. As for you comment on gaming vs. magazines I too am more interested in games as opposed to the magazines. I'm a huge retro gamer but I do enjoy the magazines as well but there are only a few that I collect. Like Nintendo Power, Sega Visions and Official Dreamcast.

I saw your post (and see that you are a new member on OoPA) and was going to speak up and claim some of your mags but at that time, I didn't think it would have been received too well, me being a co-owner of another magazine preservation site taking dibs on mags offered here.

Me too.  It was more out of respect for the members here that may have been interested in those mags (had I known no one was going to step up and get them, I would have definitely grabbed quite a few of them from you).  Maybe someone in a similar situation in the future will be able to hold onto the magazines a little longer (which it is totally understandable, your situation and no one is mad at you about it) so that others can make their voices heard after a respectable period of waiting.

Thank you for letting me know how you feel about it E-day.  Your opinion was one that I was thinking about when I wanted to post that I would take some of the mags.  I will keep this in mind in the future.  My main concern was giving someone actively scanning here to grab them.

Well, giving a scanner here first dibs would be the decent thing to do. But if no one is looking to get those magazines, then by all means go for them. Better that they go to someone who collects and appreciates the magazines than into the recycling bin or some thrift store :)

Yeah, if I had known they were that close to being dumped, I would have contacted MrPoopers and offered to be a last chance taker (if no one else spoke up).  In fact, if anyone is reading this and planning on offering mags up for shipping or for decent prices (I am not going to pay $400 for Gamefan #1, nor is anyone else from what I see on Ebay) then offer them up, but if no one takes them, contact me, I will.  I would rather be in the dilemma of what is best suited for OoPA and what is better for RM than to see the issues get dumped at a local thrift store.  I am not knocking MrPoopers, he did what he had to do, we all do when faced with similar situations.
