I have the Genesis version titled "Double Dragon III: The Arcade Game". If I remember correctly, isn't this the one where you had to "buy" the ability to do special moves? Yuck!

You got it, ButtonMasher. Such an awful idea. The main problem was the development team behind it was a group who had never before made a fighting game, and were not a part of Technos. This is what happens when you let other people with little respect for the source material tackle your own in-house property. See also: 989 Studios and their handling of Twisted Metal. :)
