Hey everyone, longtime user of the archives, first-time poster.
I've been looking for a certain ad that SquareSoft ran in the very early 90s. It shows the box art for the planned English version of Final Fantasy II on NES, which was never released, as well as concept art for Final Fantasy III on NES (again, not released), and an alternate cover for Final Fantasy Legend II - alongside the boxes of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy Legend, which were out at the time of publication.
Given that FF and FFL were released in May and September of 1990, and the SNES Final Fantasy II released in November 1991, I've been looking through Nintendo Power, EGM, and GamePro issues from around the end of 90 through the early months of 1991, but haven't seen it yet. I've also seen it suggested that this was not a magazine ad but promotional materials from the Consumer Electronics Show (presumably the Winter 1991 CES in January).
I've attached an image of the ad, as archived on the FF Fandom wiki about 11 years ago. I'm looking to establish some context for where this ad came from, given that FFII-NES was probably cancelled shortly after and replaced with the Japanese FFIV. I'd appreciate any help!
