Noteworthy Stuff:

  • The GamePro editor pseudonyms haven't made their appearance yet, so most articles are credited to either a series of initials or the writer's full name; the exceptions are Andromeda and The Eliminator, but neither have cartoon icons.
  • The game reviews aren't scored on the GamePro 0.5 - 5.0 rating scale yet either, but the reviews read more like ad copy previews than actual pros and cons so the rating system wouldn't really help.
  • The Double Dragon II preview includes a couple of references to icy floors in the game's 8th stage. Either these were removed before the final build of the game, or someone was making assumptions based on screenshots. There aren't any slippery floors in any stage.
  • The Bad Dudes tip in S.W.A.T. has nothing to do with making the game easier, it just helps you duck through the long Data East intro, and the opening story scene. Even in 1990, people hated unskippable cutscenes!
  • The reviewers seem to love everything that came across their desks this month.
  • Whoops! The 'Pros accidentally identified Sega's Scramble Spirit as a Nintendo product in last month's issue.
  • Thanks 2
