I tried to skip over that topic, hoping that by letting other members argue with him....that he might realize that "HE" is being a dick. If I keep argueing with him he may see it as myself using my Admin status as trying to control him. I will post my reply now....
2. No I have not, And at any time that I get a legitimate request to remove such material.....it shall be removed immediately. Retromags does not want to step on any publishers toes, that is why we stay 5 years behind the current publication. So as of today we only go up to April 2003.....anything past that is prohibited. But if a publisher decided to release an electronic format of there past magazines....that too would cause immediate removal and such from this website also. I honestly hope that we never get a cease and desist....but if we do we will comply fully with the publishers requests.
3. Hopefully when we release out that GameFan Issue 1.....we can get the same type of response
4. http://kotaku.com/ I am very pleased by this.....Maybe out of the 1000+ people who have visited since 1pm.....maybe we can get a few more people willing to help scan and edit
5. I cant wait for Mario Kart, Last night while watching Law and Order I saw the commercial for Mario kart, I immediately paused the TV and ran to the other room to grab the Girlfriend to come watch it with me. Just sux that I have to buy the game and 2 extra wheels.....thats like $80 for 1 game!

8. Nope I technically have about 30 more EGMs in addition to the 50 I listed, I just need to take a break before my eyes pop outta my head
9. This is soo why I should never use the sniper riffle. I pick it up ....see my teammate getting attacked.....I try to snipe the enemy and put a bullet through my teammates skull
10. Below is my list of the last 50 scans before I hit my goal of 150 scans. I will be taking a break from scanning after I get this list completed. I want to get these magazines all edited and cleaned up before moving on. I will still scan the occasional magazine from time to time, but will be dedicating 90% of my time to the cropping and fixing up of all the scans in the EGM section. 11. WON! GamePro April, 1990 (Issue 9) 5 Nintendo Power Magazines!!! Vols. 157 - 161
12. 1) Emulation News is the only section that exports news to the front page, Maybe I should just rename that section Front Page News? 2) Yes I know sometimes I get crooked scans, but the early issues of EGM are not being cut apart, they are being manually scanned. I believe 001-025 are all going to be manual scans. 3) If I hit the lottery I will definitely get you a scanner
13. Retromags Proudly Presents.... Electronic Gaming Monthly Issue 001 (May 1989) This issue was incredibly hard to come by on Ebay, I believe in the past 3 years of running Retromags, I have maybe only ever seen it listed 3-4 times. I hope you guys enjoy this release! A big thanks goes out to Meppi for sacrificing his Mario Kart play time to clean up the scans of this issue. I would also like to thank everyone who donates to this site, those donations help us acquire these rare gems for preservation. As this issue is now scanned, I have re listed it on Ebay for selling. We will be taking the money won from selling this issue to acquire more missing EGM issues. I would like to take this opportunity to also let everyone know that we are working hard on getting a full set of the first 10 years of EGM released. As such we will need quite a crew of dedicated people to help fix up these scans. So anyone with photoediting experience is in high demand on the Retromags website. Please contact me if you can help out in any way. Rapidshare Link: EGM Issue 001 (CBZ) Rapidshare Link: EGM Issue 001 (PDF) EBay Link: Buy EGM Issue 001! Digg This Release: Click Here! 14. Yea each visit builds the Retromags city, Look at some of the top cities......thats where we should be! Its nothing special, just something to get the Retromags name out there
15. So with Underground-Gamer getting hacked recently, I thought about having a secondary private tracker host the majority of our releases. Right now I am in the progress of moving some of the releases over to Demonoid to see how they do over there. Comparing Underground-Gamer to Demonoid on Alexa shows this...... Click here for a Comparision! You will see that Retromags is waay down at the bottom of the chart in terms of traffic.......Underground-Gamer is above us quite a bit.....but Demoniod is just towering above all with traffic. I would also release the magazines on Mininova, but no one seeds them when I do. So Demonoid is the next best thing considering that people have ratio laws to obey. So here is my proposal, Many of you guys wish to download more magazines. But you either dont have a scanner, cant edit a magazine ....or dont wish to donate money. Those are all fine.....but you have no reason other then laziness to turn down the following offer. For every 5 magazines you take from the Retromags Download section, and create a PROPER torrent over at Demonoid.....I will credit you 6 months of Premium Membership! Not just 1 month.....But 6 months! You only need to follow these simple rules! 1) Do Not Distribute the Nintendo Power magazines over there! I want to do those a certain way....all other magazines are up for grabs to move over there! 2) You are to only upload 1 magazine per torrent, No yearly or compilation sets! This will give many more members the chance to participate in this activity 3) No changes should be made to the magazines, If you downloaded it from here and unzipped it ....and there was a .cbr and .nfo.....those are the two files that should be uploaded over there. Please do not just throw the .zip file in a torrent and upload it. You must extract the .cbr and .nfo and create a torrent that includes both those files (if an .nfo was included) 4)You must include the Demonoid text file....this is part of THEIR rules...not mine! 5) You must seed the magazine until it has a total of 4 Seeders (you...plus 3 other seeders) 6) You must send me a message on these forums informing me of your uploads, After I verify you will be granted Premium Membership 7) You must have the Retromags.com name in the title of the release and they type of file! ex.... "Gamepro Issue 001 (Retromags.com)(.cbr)" 8) You must upload a screenshot of the cover, and use it in the description code! 9) You must use the following template for the body of the description... PRESENTS Release Name! This issue is in CBR format (Comic Book Reader; a renamed RAR file to work with the excellent CDisplay program; available HERE.) Be sure to check out www.retromags.com for more info and news about releases. Thanks and Enjoy! This is all pretty easy, Please don't ask me for a Demonoid invite because I don't have any. Post any questions you may have in this thread!

20. Hello there, Welcome to Retromags. Technically we tend to scan only magazines and catalogs, We stay 5 years behind the current publication date to stay on the good side of the publishers. Magazines are usually discarded after people read them, and the publishers usually only provide back orders for a year or two. Books on the other hand tend to be sold for a great deal longer. So I doubt we will be doing any books....but magazines from 198? - 2003 are always welcome Let me know if I can be of any more help

24. So some of you may have noticed that I added a new skin to the site, As such I pushed everyone's choice to that skin as a default. But you are now able to change it back to the one of your choice. The question stands, Do you guys like the New skin, or will you be going back to one of the two old skins? Remember you can change the look of the site by scrolling all the way down and using the drop down box in the lower left hand corner. -Phillyman
