  1. Nope it was an accident, When I created the Members usergroup it denies access to the Arcade, Its fixed now. Thanks for the heads up
  2. Yea for some odd reason I cant disable people from trying to upload avatars, If you upload the avatar to imageshack and then remote url , your avatar will work.
  3. Try this site, It allows you to submit news stories to multiple sites http://www.socialmarker.com/

He actually was logged yesterday, I tried to PM him while he was on to talk to him. I wanted to ask him for permission to use 2 of his cover scans of the Sega Visions magazines. I was going to trade him for the 2 he is missing. I must have just missed him. Its ashame that his site has kinda been abandoned, If you click on his forums you can see that they have been hacked and if you click on it.... http://www.magweasel.com/phpBB2/viewforum....c8b7bc8592551c8 I am wondering if the hacking of his forums was the reason for the lack of him being around? Here is Magweasels profile http://www.retromags.com/forums/index.php?showuser=851

No reason other then we have to build the tables and it takes some time, If you want to see how to build the tables take a look at the Nintendo Power or Sega Visions, For months with no issues you will need to use a || to skip that month. It just takes a little while to get the table all created. We can use the general information from MagWeasel, But I dont want to straight copy it, As you can see his tables are different then mine. But the general information of what issue falls on what month is fine to copy.
  6. Ah yes it has been scanned, On the second page you can read how its suppose to have special ink that makes it impossible to scan I think the only thing I am missing other then the 4 missing issues of NP, is the pokemon comics and supplements.
  7. I got to read about the first 2 lines of it before my girlfriend ended my Remote Desktop session I will try to get you what you requested when I get home in a hour
  8. No you do auto revive after the attack has expired, The higher your level the more you can attack and the sooner you revive from a kill. But if you want to get revived before the attack has expired, you will need someone on the forum to use a Revival potion on you (just like in FF7). Stronger you are, the faster you heal
  9. Honestly I believe someone converted only the first 3 issues of Nintendo Power, and then they stopped. When I was creating the lists on the Wiki I did not create a "converted" list because it only consisted of 3 issues.
  10. This is great news on the Gamepro front, I do have a nice collection but with the help of kbf_private_joker we should have a fairly complete collection from roughly 1993-2002.

    Sega Visions Logo.

Once its all fixed up we can put it here http://www.retromags.com/wiki/index.php?ti...sions_%28USA%29
  12. No way! Your not trying to revive yourself are you? Everyone knows that a team mate has to revive you. Or you can just wait until the attack wears off, but I will revive you

    Sega Visions Logo.

Nice Job! Thats going to come in handy once I start cataloging the contents of the Sega Visions Collection
  14. Funny thing is, Before taking that picture......I had to go get my GBA, NDS and PSP out of the bathroom.
  15. Yes, The lovely part of having an invision powerboard is that every 3 weeks there is an update that screws up any modifications you may have made. I just today updated to 2.3.3 and fixed the battle system afterwards. Yea let me know if anything else is still broken. I think the Arcade, BattleSystem and Casino are back up and working. I just have some administrative mods to reinstall at this point.
  16. Yes It would be nice to have a download link on the portal page, But I posted "Click Here To Download The Magazines" at the top of every section of the forum and in the Shoutbox. While it may be easier for you to just have it right on the portal, it does nothing for the site to have people just come and leech the files. Since that Digg the other night I have had over 19 gigs worth of downloads and only 3 people offer there help. Its pretty sad that out of 4000+ people that visited this site since the Digg, that 3997 of those people just came to download the files and offer nothing back. Most couldn't even be bothered to register an account and post a simple "Thank You".
  17. I got the Sega Channel adapter for the Sega Genesis. I bought it off ebay about a year ago
  18. It is a good deal, I dont have the money for it though :( Even so, I am pretty well off on the PSM side.......I think maybe 6 issues missing......would be overkill for me to buy 100 mags for 6.....It may interest others though
  19. I dont have many EGM's maybe about 20 of them, I think you misread my post a little bit. I was saying that I was on a personal goal of scanning 150 magazines over the next few months, and that I have already scanned 45 magazines out of that 150 goal. The earliest EGM I believe I have is issue 25 which has Ken from Street fighter on the cover. Most of my EGM magazines are at my work right now, I will try to make a list of what I have tomorrow.
  20. There are a bunch of Gamefan's on Ebay, but at $15 each I just dont have the $$ to buy them
  21. Ok, I have been wanting to do this thread for a while now. Post up pictures of your gaming setups. Below is my setup for the Living Room and Bedroom In the bottom corner you can see my Slimline HP Computer....Thats the Retromags FTP Server
  22. Welcome to Retromags Debinding issues is your call, I only do it because I have an ADF scanner. We miss about a quarter of an inch of the page by not debinding but its not that big of a deal. I would start off with a hair dryer and warm up the labels and carefully peel them off. Given enough heat you can remove the address labels with no damage at all. Some of the glue may stay behind so it may rub off on your scanner, One tip I can give you is not to stack magazines after removing the label, Sometimes the glue will re adhere to an issue that you stacked on top of it. After removing the label I would scan the cover and upload it to the Wiki using the filename egm_issue_xxx.jpg , replacing xxx with the issue number. after that is complete you can scan the magazine at 300DPI, you are looking for about 1.5-2.5 MB in each page size. You can then upload the unedited scans to the FTP (i have enough room for 1000 magazines to be stored). After its been uploaded we can hopefully get someone to fix up the scans. People who are good with photo editing can download the scans and crop them and straighten them up, compile them into a .cbr and we have a release. The goal when I started this website was to create a central point where we can establish something similar to an assembly line. One person scans an issue, and hands it off to someone who cleans up the scans, who then in turn hands it off to someone who distributes it on the internet for everyone to enjoy. Right now I am on a personal goal of scanning 150 magazines, You may wish to look in my WIP thread. I am on scan #45 right now, the only thing that was slowing me down was the debinding. Now that I have 100+ magazines at work, I can debind them in my spare time at work and push through 3 magazines in my ADF scanner at home. I expect that within 30 days I will have the remaining 105 magazines scanned. Most are going to be PSM and Gamepro with some Sega Visions and EGM's thrown in for good measure. Again I appreciate any help that people are willing to give. Those 45 issues I have already scanned would be released if I had some help in getting them cleaned up and distributed. -Phillyman
  23. Well as long as its not above issue 162 (nov 2002) you will find it here Thanks to everyone who dugg, or spread the news to other community based news sites. I would love to see Retromags on Joystiq, Max Console or Slashdot
  24. We will be doing the Nintendo Power Guides, But they will be coming out slowly. The reason is not because we want them to be that way. But 420 over at Underground Gamer has already scanned 80% of those guides. So I will be hard pressed to find people who will want to invest time into redoing those same guides for Retromags. So right now we are concentrating on what is not out there
