I am not sure if you noticed that we have an ongoing Wiki page that indexes almost all the old nintendo power magazines. If you wish to add to the Wiki pages we have in place I can promise you we wont delete anything .
The link is on the navigation page and also in the forum sections
WON!
Contacted a seller on ebay that was selling 8 of these mags (3,3,2)
Ask if they would sell me 1 full set (1,1,1) for $4 plus $2 shipping, At first he said he wanted to let the auction run its course, but then he took a second look at his auction and emailed me back saying he had split the auctions, I have seen the Wizard Pocket Power go for $10 by itself before
Pretty good deal
I am in the progress of making a list of all the released issues that Retromags has currently made public. If anyone can help me out with making the list complete I would greatly appriciate it!
As you can see my scanning has resumed and at the current rate the missing Nintendo Powers will be scanned in a few days. Meanwhile anyone wanting to help with the list can do so by editing the Wiki page at the following location
http://www.retromags.com/wiki/index.php?ti...Released_Issues
After the Released List is complete, I will do a Scanned List. Again thanks in advance for the help (feel free to add CRC Hashes if you know how to compute them)
Yes there was a huge torrent that was released a year or so back, and it did have issues past 1998. This was before I started including .nfo files with each release. Alot of people complained that it was a pain to download 1 huge torrent, So i then created yearly torrents
1988
1989
1990
.
.
.
etc
When I got up to around 1998, Issues werent complete, they were either missing posters and/or covers or just missing issues from the year. I didnt think it was worth it to release past 1998 until I fixed those problems. We aquired all the missing posters and now if you look at my WIP thread you will notice that I am scanning the missing issues also. Technically we should be up to the October 2002 issue as the latest release. I am working on getting all the issues together and doing a quality check. As I start getting issues fixed up , I will start bundling them in groups of 50
001-050
051-100
101-150
151
152
.
.
.
.
etc
Once they have all been run though the quality check, I will then move all my attention to Sega Visions and Gamepro as my next projects. If anyone has the ability to clean up scans, or join posters.....your help is appreciated
Ok my problem with this is that they only cared about 24 of the songs she was sharing, thats like $25 worth of songs and they blew it up to a $222,000 fine????
Final Fantasy 7......That brings back memories. I put 97 hours into beating that game. Some days I still fire up the PS1 and unleash an can of kick ass on Sephiroth
even after upgrading the forum software it still shows up , But just for shits an giggles....I sent myself a message (I have -7 and zero messages actually) and mine went from -7 to -6.......then when I deleted that message it went to 0
So send yourself a message and then delete it and see if it auto corrects itself
I updated the forum software as of today, This means that some parts may not work right now. Whenever I update the forum I usually have to reinstall the modifications that have been made to this board. Please let me know of anything that doesnt work.
This is what I have noticed so far...
Portal Page (aka front page) = Doesnt work
Battle System = Doesnt work
Personal Messages = Still showing negative posts
Who has visited today = Doesnt work
Arcade Stats = Doesnt show up on forum
Arcade = New Scores dont submit correctly
I sent out multiple warnings to every member that has registered at Retromags that a mass pruning was coming.
Some of you decided to sign in .....others didnt!
700+ Members were pruned from the forums as of a few minutes ago.
The criteria was as follows
Less then 1 Post (means 0 posts)
AND!
Has not signed on within the past year (October 10th, 2006)
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, I figure at least 500 of those members were probably spam bots anyways.
Next Pruning will take place mid January 2008!
I have learned a very very important lesson this week, If you are going to debind magazines for scanning, and plan to use a Auto Document feeder. Well then before debinding write down the numbers of any pages that DO NOT have a page number. You would be surprised at how many EGM pages have no page numbers, My scanner got the pages out of order (by pulling in more then 1 page) and I sat there for ever trying to piece back together that magazine :unhappy:
I am going to start making notes like this
Page 54 = Spiderman Ad
Page 103 = Super Mario Advance Ad
Page 154 = Cheap Videogame Outlet Ad
Yea you would think that you could just flip over the page and look at that number to figure out the page, But there are alot of dual pages that have no numbers
Dont fall victim!
Scanning will resume tonite....
I havent touched my copy of Twilight Princess in months :unhappy:
I am at the point where I just got the suit and now can swim underwater to that cave, I got fustrated because I couldnt figure out how to blow up the rock that was blocking the entrance. I had tried everything and just sort of never got back into playing it since then.
Maybe after I get done with PH, I will go back and finish up TP
Ah good I forgot that one......Yea I am only excluding the DOS games and Game and Watch.
I started playing Phantom Hourglass last night.....Its very good and I hope its my first Zelda game to beat
I want to start collecting the major nintendo franchises.......I want to basically own all the Mario, Zelda and Metroid games in existence. I just need to make sure I have a complete list. I am not going to be collecting ports or clones........and in order for it to be considered the main character has to be playable or in the name of the game
So lets take Mario games....
Super Mario Land 3 = Would be on my list (has mario in the title) (even though you dont play as mario)
Punch Out = Would not be on my list (mario only makes an appearance)
Super Smash Bros. = Would be on my list because you can play as mario
Donkey Kong = Would be on my list because you play as mario
Donkey Kong JR = Would not be on my list because Mario only makes an appearance
So I need some help remembering the thousands of Mario games out there

Yea the funny thing is....Nintendo is soo inconsistent with page numbering. In some issues the poster counts as 6 pages of the magazine (3 on each side)....but then other Nintendo Power magazines seem to not count the poster as anything at all......So if I want to get the jpg numbers to actually match up to the actual page numbers ....its a pain
I think he may have had some doubles, But It was 100 for $100.
The same guy had 100 PSM issues for $100.
I will let you know if I see any other good deals on Ebay
EDIT
Looks like 85 issues
