  1. I do have some EGM's from that era, Those mags are huge in size......I would have to split it into thirds to get it to go thru. I will see if I can get you at least one of them out this week
  2. Yes once you logged in, you were safe from deletion, We get about 10 registrations per day that are from spammers trying to advertise. We want those users account terminated.
  3. Yes when an issue shows up as 100% scanned, that issue should be on the FTP. As far as releasing edited scans.....Until we get a few more people on board that can help with the editing, we will be releasing out raw scans. Retromags draws almost all of its traffic from the releases, so if we dont release because an issue hasnt been edited....we will be waiting quite a while and the traffic will suffer. I would rather release out magazines in a raw state, and then as we aquire a team of editors we can go back and work on cleaning up those scans.
  4. I just thought I would tell you guys how I plan to progress on this website with the following months. I am going to be scanning 90% of the time. My Goal is to scan 150 magazines in 12 weeks. My WIP thread is going to be jumping with posts about my progress, Currently I am 16 scans into this goal. I am planning to create a huge backflow of magazines for release. So what does that mean for the releases? I will be releasing 1-2 magazines per week....most likely on the weekends. Any one of you guys is more then welcome to step forward and take on the task of releasing more then that! Below is how it is gonna break down..... 90% Aquiring Magazines Debinding Magazines Scanning Magazines Error Checking For Missing/Crooked Pages Resizing The Scans Renaming The Scans Collating The Scans Moving To The FTP 10% (People are more then welcome to help with this) Grabbing the Scans off The FTP Creating A Rar File Out Of The Scans Renaming The file into a .cbr (following retromags standard naming convension) Creating an .nfo file (detailing down information about the release) Placing the .nfo and .cbr into a folder (using Retromags naming convention) Creating a Torrent out of that folder Uploading the Torrent to Mininova Messaging Phillyman the link to the release
  5. I am gonna try to do the following, If a user has been inactive for more then 365 days AND has 0 posts.......then delete!
  6. This forum has sadly become bloated with inactive accounts, most of them belong to spam bots. Within the next few weeks there will be a mass deletion of accounts from Retromags. Any "Regular Member" who has not logged into this site within the past 365 days will be deleted. I will send out a mass email 7 days before I delete the emails. All that is needed is for the members to log into the forums and there accounts will be safe.
  7. If you see anyone on Ebay selling anything that we have released, Please report them ASAP. Retromags does not condone selling magazine scans for a profit. If this becomes a big enough problem on Ebay, most likely Nintendo will seek to shut down sites such as this one. Retromags accepts donations to help purchase old magazines, pay for hosting fee's and purchase scanners and supplies for scanning. Your Donations are not compensation for the scans and/or time spent on such scans! QUOTED FROM AN EBAY LISTING! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=180139246008
  8. I have started on finishing out the Nintendo Power set, I am going thru issue by issue and making sure they are complete. I will be ripping apart each Nintendo Power magazine and doing the following 1) Checking each page against the actual magazine 2) Standardizing the page numbering/naming 3) Standardizing the posters 4) Redoing the Rar Files 5) Including a Thank You Page as the last page of each issue (recognizing each person who has helped) 6) Integrating each issues supplement into the actual issues file Every 50 issues that I run thru will be released, So The yearly torrents will be no longer supported. The torrents will be released in the following fashion Nintendo Power Issues 1-50 (Retromags.com) (.cbr) Nintendo Power Issues 51-100 (Retromags.com) (.cbr) Nintendo Power Issues 101-150 (Retromags.com) (.cbr) Nintendo Power Issue 151 (Retromags.com) (.cbr) . . Nintendo Power Issue 159 (Retromags.com) (.cbr) Once we catch up (which will be soon)......we will release a new Nintendo Power Issue from 5 years ago to that month. So in September 2007 we will have September 2002 being released......and so on. This push forward will pretty much finalize the Nintendo Power collection, We will still try and improve on the existing scans, But I wouldnt expect any more then 1 redone issue every month or so. We ask anyone who enjoys these scans to help out in anyway possible, Seeding these releases is one of the biggest problems we are running into, There is absolutly no excuse for 1 or 2 seeds on our releases!
  9. EGM2 Issue 001r (July 1994) CBR Versions: http://www.mininova.org/tor/786876 Please Help Us Out And Seed This File
  10. If anyone wants to help out and doesnt have the means to scan or edit, Feel free to help work on the Wiki. We are trying to provide a complete listing of whats in each issue of Nintendo Power. This will not only provide a great tool for users to be able to search the contents of each issue, But will also help us out in finding out any missing pieces that arent accounted for. I have already basically done the first 3 issues of Nintendo Power to completion. Things we are looking to do on the wiki 1) Fill in any missing information (Some entries arent complete) 2) Upload Any Missing Covers (Please use format NP_Issue_###.jpg) 3) Place page numbers for each game (actual page number, not the scan number) 4) Color code game names by system (will hold off until 1 thru 3 are done) Nintendo Power Examples... Nintendo Power Issue 001 Nintendo Power Issue 002 Nintendo Power Issue 003
  11. Good find.....Local Circuit City has it for $115 + Tax.....So this is a good deal. Although I will mention that I do own this scanner and just know that HP's scanning software is complete shit. I am not saying its bad scanning software, I am saying its horrible. The hardware is fine, I use Windows XP to scan and other then it not being able to skip numbers (1,3,5,7,9,11..etc) it works good. With this scanner you could probably scan 10 magazines in about 3 days time, Anyone who can scan 10 magazines and submits them becomes a Premium Member for life also. (Honestly you could buy this scanner from BB/CC and scan 10 magazines and then return it within the 14 day return policy  )

  20. We are going to be basically using Underground Gamers tracker since they have a good system in place to keep torrents seeded. Soon I will be disabling all the torrents on Mininova, and all new ones will only stay on Mininova for a week or two before finding permanent residence at UG.
