This thread will serve to keep members updated with what we have acquired, Any members that wish to go onto Ebay and bid on magazines to send to us to scan is also welcome to post any auctions they win Remember, that if you wish to get a Premium Membership to this website, you can do so by helping out scanning, editing, distributing or donating money or magazines. Depending on the age of the magazine you will be credited a Premium Membership as follows! Each video game magazine donated that is 1997-2001 counts as 2 weeks as a Premium member! Each video game magazine donated that is 1992-1996 counts as 1 month as a Premium member! Each video game magazine donated that is before 1992 counts as 2 months as a Premium member! Any help is appreciated in keeping this project alive!

Retromags is looking for help in the following area's, Once all these positions have been filled we can expect 4-6 new releases each week! We need people that can constantly deliver! 10 Scanners Retromags needs 10 people with either a flatbed scanner or autofeeding scanner (prefered), that will be able to scan at least one (1) full magazine per month for release (please no magazines under 5 years old) Duties Remove any address labels using a hair dryer Remove any cardboard subscription cards Scan at least 1 Magazine Each Month Upload Unedited Scans to FTP 10 Editors Retromags needs 10 people that are good with photo editing software that are able to edit at least one (1) full magazine per month for release. Duties Grab unedited scans from FTP Edit at least 1 Magazine Each Month (crop, rotate, resize, fix brightness/contrast/colors) Upload Edited Scans Back To FTP in .CBR format 4 Distributors Retromags needs 4 people that have a working knowledge of how to create torrents and have a decent upload ISP speed. Working knowlege and access to Newsgroups is a plus. Also a understanding of Rapidshare is a plus. Needs to be able to create at least one (1) new release per week, and ability to seed that release for 1 week. Duties Grab Edited Scans from FTP each week Create NFO File for each magazine Release at least 1 magazine per week Seed Torrent for at least 1 week Upload Magazine to Rapidshare Upload Magazine to Newsgroups (optional) Keep Release Section Updated 3 Converters Retromags needs 3 people that are good with creating adobe acrobat files (.pdf) and have access to Adobe Acrobat software for creating at least 1 conversion per week Duties Grab Edited CBR Version Magazine Off FTP Convert at least 1 CBR magazine into PDF format per week Create Hot linked Table of Contents Upload PDF Version Back to FTP 5 Indexers Retromags needs at least 5 people that can go thru our released magazines and index the contents of at least two (2) releases per week on the Retromags Wiki. Duties Index contents of two (2) Magazines Per week on Wiki. Contact myself if you can fulfill any of these positions. :grin:

I heard a few suggestions from some members about the new scans looking somewhat washed out, I have found a nice program that I can batch edit photos. Its somewhere between Photoshop and MS Paint Anyways How Does this look??? (will post more examples later) BEFORE AFTER BEFORE AFTER

Yes I know the forums side of Retromags is slow today, There is a problem with the hosting companies database that our forum hooks up to, The Wiki section is unaffected because it resides on a seperate database. Bare with us while they fix it

Fixed, I upgraded the forum from PHP4 to PHP5 over the weekend in order to run the Wiki software on this site. Thanks for the notice that the battle system wasnt working, Let me know if there are any other problems

EGM had a few spinoff magazines back in the day.......One of them was devoted to Super Nintendo games and was called SNES Buyers Guide, The other was devoted to Sega Games and was called Mega Play. In old EGM mags you can find them advertising for these 2 magazines. Best part is they are all small issues, 30 pages at most

Even if they shut down, I wont publish anything that isnt at least 5 years old. But thats ashame if they do decide to stop publishing :(

Any chance you can scan the covers of 128, both front and back and the insides of the covers at a resolution around 1800x2400???
