Over the past two weeks I have had this strong urge to go to Toys R Us and buy a Rubiks cube. So Sunday afternoon I finally went, let me start by saying that walking through a Toy's R Us just brings back a nostalgic feeling. A quick stroll through the board games isle, brings back memories of playing Candy Land, Shoots and Ladders, Connect Four, Operation, Scrabble and many more. As I walked the isles I was looking for two items.....a 3x3 Rubiks Cube and Simon. I found the Rubiks cube first, and I started my hunt for Simon.....but unfortunately TRU either was out of stock or does not carry the full size Simon any longer. I was a bit disappointed that I would only get to leave with one of the items I came in to get. Then something caught my eye.....something that immediately took my mind back 20 years! It was a Slinky!!!! Even if you have not held a Slinky in the last 20 years, the sound that a Slinky makes......and its cool metal are two senses that no adult can ever forget. Within 1 minute of the cashier handing my reciept to me, the bag was open.....and the Slinky in hand gliding back and forth between my hands.
Many of the people who visit Retromags are looking for ways to relive that feeling of a simpler time ......so I am telling you to go pick up a Slinky this week and you too can drop back to your childhood.

None of my websites are resource intensive, nor do any of them receive a great deal of traffic. Each website I [...]

I am always hearing people complain about the price of video games. Now being an avid gamer since the NES days, I can remember some real eye openers when it came to buying games. There were quite a few SNES games and Nintendo 64 games that cost me damn near my entire Christmas budget.

I grew up playing Nintendo systems and the Mario series, but even closer to my heart is the “Legend of Zelda” franchise. So back in 1993 when Super Mario All-Stars came out for the Super Nintendo, I was sure that Nintendo would give the Zelda series the same treatment. Its now 18 years later and [...]
