No no, not at all. It's directed towards the individuals who register and post spam into 25 topics in a matter of hours. Some don't even take that long. And even then it's only when they add absolutely nothing to the conversation, besides getting their post count up. Every single post you've made has included more then enough content to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you hadn't even thought about posting just to get a new tag. So don't worry about all this. It's only directed towards a very small minority.

Lately we have seen an influx of people who sign up and post 25 replies in as many topics as quickly as possible so they can change their membership status from newbie to member. Needless to say this is very annoying on several levels. We could fix this in 2 ways. Either in upping the requirements to get to member status by having a minimum of 100 posts again, but this would punish 99% of the genuine posters on here, so that is out of the question. Or we will make sure that anyone found to be abusing the lenient system that is in place, will not be able to profit from these kinds of tactics. Therefor, any member that is found to abuse the system and disrupt the active threads and discussions by bumping lots of old ones without any reason will automatically be demoted to newbie and those posts will be subtracted from their post count.

Ew, the original one is nowhere near as good as either the DSL or DSi. Had one ever since the Japanese launch and once I got my DSL I couldn't go back to it due to the difference the screen makes. Nomatter how different the D-pad was. Lack of GBA port doesn't bother me at all. I have 2 GBA's, about 5 GBA SPs and 2 GBA SP+ as well as 3 GB Micro's. Playing GBA games on the DSL was much worse since the DSL is so bad for doing diagonals. What I don't understand is all the whining about the crappy camera's in the DSi. The resolution of the camera's is already twice as much as the resolution of the DS screen itself, so why would there be a need for a higher resolution camera if it's just in there to play games with. It's not meant to replace your digital camera... The big reasons why I'm getting a DSi on launch even though I wasn't excited about it when they first announced the system are the following. -Bigger screen: It's not a huge difference, but then again once you see it in person and you've been playing the DSL for several years, it's very noticeable. -better D-pad and buttons: Huge deal for me since the mushy buttons on the DSL and the horrible diagonals on the D-pad were the only negatives of the system. So now that they fixed that it's a necessity for me to get one. -downloadable games: Might not be too big at first. Dr.Mario, Mini Puzzle De Pon, etc. But you can be sure that there will be a host of must have games on this in the future. And with the inevitable Virtual Portable that we'll see in the future it will be all the sweeter. Game&Watch games for 500 points Woooooooooo!

The Slam Heard Around The World
meppi replied to triverse's topic in Current Generation Video Gaming!
Well I actually liked the fingerpoint of doom. But that was because it was deliberately done to let everyone know that Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Scott Steiner and Hulk Hogan had set everything up that happened. Quite a funny moment and a great way to reunite the old clan. Just look at how the crowd reacted. Oh and Goldberg is the Master of the Universe done the correct way. -

Apparently you only need to marry the right woman to become the biggest legend to ever have stepped into the squared circle. Seriously, he doesn't deserve to be in that roster whatsoever. Same goes for his "career" right now. It's just a bunch of BS. He's basically depicted as being unstoppable nomatter who he faces, unless they somehow use an underhanded trick of some sort or they want to put someone over very very hard. So boring. The new angle with Orton and everything could have been great, but once I saw HHH steaming in the ring for about 3 minutes so that the stage monkeys would have enough footage to cut promos for the next month leading up to Wrestlemania of him being foaming at the mouth from pure rage, it just turned the cheese factor up to that France blue moly variety for me. Wonder if they will have the same stipulations for the sites and magazines that will be reviewing this game like the previous WWE games. Meaning that they will have to sign an agreement that they will not picture HHH in any screenshots in a way that portrays him as anything less than the master of the universe. I love wrestling, but BS like that makes me wish WCW never went down and Bishoff ran MCMahon out of business instead. -
Not rooster related but wow, just wow.

Yeah, that's probably right... and a 2nd one:

Meh, I'm happy with VBR MP3s with a decent average bitrate (224 or something higher). That's how I rip my CDs anyway VBR 256. Then again, music CDs never had the same feeling as LPs even though they sound clearer. They tend to lose something when going from analogue to digital. ;P

Hehe, this reminds me of back in the NES days when we would buy games simply be looking at the box art. Count me in on the pie throwing, Excitebotting Wifi online multiplayer mayhem! Completely agree that we should get to play together a bit more. Still haven't seen anyone online in Mario Kart Wii. If anyone's interested, my code is 2750-1228-5948. I'm mostly playing mon, wed, thu, fri between 1PM and 4PM CET. Not every day though, but when I do it's always at those times.

Yeah, me too. Love the original. Still play it every couple of weeks. Had me a bit worried there at first, but looking at the boxart I'm getting a bit of a Diddy Kong Racing vibe from it. Couple that with the Excite of the title and we might have an incredible game on our hands. I believe that they shouldn't have changed the game too much from the first, but looking at how it never turned into a huge seller and always remained a bit of an underground title, this is probable the only way we would get a sequel. So I'm all for it. Hope that it's just as good if not better and that this time around it finds the success it deserves.

Sweet release. Great work guys! Haven't had the time to read through it yet, but I'm hoping that I will be able to do it this evening. Just uploaded it to rapidshare as soon as I saw it was up. Can't wait to read the Yuzo Koshiro article. He made the soundtracks for Streets of Rage and Ys among others!

Oh yeah, that's a great one! I always think to Isolated Warrior whenever someone brings this one up since I got those 2 games at the same time. The NES Batman game was also soooooooooooo good!

Same here. Until I figured out that I didn't need to do the throwing motion using all my strength. Just a very quick flick from the wrist will give you a high power throw as well. This weekend I actually hurt my back playing House of the Dead Overkill. You'd wonder how that is possible. Well my best friend came over to come and get his version which just came in so we played the game for over 4 hours in multiplayer mode. So much fun! My arms started to hurt after a couple of hours since I've started using the Perfect Shot handgun, but I kept playing on. That evening when I went to bed I could feel that I hurt my back a bit. It wasn't until I woke up again that I knew just how bad it was. In the end it was all worth it though.

King Of Fighters Xii Video Up On Gametrailers.com
meppi replied to triverse's topic in Current Generation Video Gaming!
Can't go wrong with either of those, that's for sure! I'm not into FPS games either, unless it's something truly special like the Half-Life games, or Portal or Metroid. Liked Halo 1 quite a bit, but nearly all the FPS releases over these last couple of years just blend together in my eyes. So once you take all those games out of the equation you cut of quite a bit of the HD systems library. Wish they were more like the PS2. -
King Of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match Out
meppi replied to triverse's topic in Current Generation Video Gaming!
Aw, I was going to order this thinking it was the Japanese version. But it's the US one. I've got both a PAL and a Japanese PS2, so that would have been sweet to get it at that price. The Japanese one still costs $54.90 without shipping and customs. :( -
King Of Fighters Xii Video Up On Gametrailers.com
meppi replied to triverse's topic in Current Generation Video Gaming!
Oh man, that's the one game that makes me wish I had either a 360 or a PS3.... The biggest problem is that there aren't enough games on either system for me to justify getting one, let alone to decide which one I should get. :( I'd love to play WipEout HD and hopefully a real sequel. Games like Street Fighter 4, Virtua Fighter 5, Sega Rallly aren't really a problem since they are multiplatform. But then again games like PacMan CE, Geometry Wars 2, Galaga Legions, Death Tank, and a couple others are XBLA only. Then you have things like the Raiden games and the Cave shooters coming out on the 360, but only in Japan and they aren't region free. So I would need a Japanese system for that. pfffffffff I don't like this generation. :( -
That standing up part was funny, but the whole running face first into the wall part was the icing on the cake. There's another clip as well. He stands up and starts barking in a semi-zombie kinda way. Funny thing is that I sleepwalk as well, so I can more or less relate to this. Been doing it ever since I was little. Also have these very lively dreams where I wake up and start throwing my blanket or something around to get away from whatever was chasing/eating me or something like that. Gotten used to it by now. Well, more or less anyway.

This might be good for a laugh. I'll just link to the thread itself as it's full of Photoshops. One's from someone you might know. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=353839

Very strange. Never had anything like this happen in the game. Not once. I'd say check your settings, like the sensitivity of your sensor bar and such, but you say that other games don't show any problems... :-/ Any lights that might interfere with the IR sensors could cause this as well, even reflections from say a glass coffee table between you and the TV. Never noticed that the game makes so much noise either. Will have to test it tomorrow.

No no, that's exactly what I did. I took some fully edited uncompressed and full sized PSD scans and run them through the same resizing batch, but saved the first at JPGs at a quality of 9 in Photoshop and the same scans also as BMP files. That's why I said the JPGs turn out to be around 1MB per file and the BMPs of the same files are 8-9 times larger with very little improvement in image quality. If you mean we should take the BMP files and RAR or ZIP them with an aggressive algorithm, then that would probably create quite a bit of trouble for the comicbook readers to open these cbz's. As well as negate the positive effects that would be created by using BMP files in the first place.
