  1. I have no idea what football game that is from but I love that avatar for some reason. Don't care much for anything sports related myself, but the sweet 8-bit graphics are enough to kickstart my retro gaming heart.
  2. Thought it might be nice to get the info out for my favourite podcast. And especially since tonight's episode will be about the best game EVER! NiGHTS into Dreams for the Sega Saturn! DOWNLOAD LINK "Right click, save as"
  3. Oops, looks like I hit the quote button on my first post instead of the edit button... Sorry about that. I just meant to put OSSM27 up to 51 pages from 30 or so since it's the first day I have started editing scans again after being sick for 2 weeks. I didn't even know there was someone looking forward to the rescans of MAXIMUM! I love working on that magazine since it's such a great read from the very first to the very last page. I'll be moving up the MAXIMUM scans a bit then.
  4. A bit behind again with the EGMs, but Video Games & Computer Entertainment October 1990 had been uploaded.
  5. Sadly I do have to agree there. I loved EGM back in the day. Making sure the local shop imported the magazine, even if it was only just for me. And to my surprise they actually did. But then I did buy 5-6 different magazines each month. I'm not exactly sure when I stopped buying them, but I know it was after the demise of the DC. That seemed to have not only sucked much of the life out of the industry, but out of gaming magazines as well. At least for me. But I have mentioned that before.
  6. That's what I thought. If even magazines like EGM, which is one of the biggest names in gaming magazines today, is having trouble keeping it's head above the water. I'm afraid a new magazine, even if it were to continue on the Gamefan legacy would have an extremely difficult time. Something like RetroGamer seems to be one of the few which have created it's own niche and run with it. But then again, the mag has gone belly up once already. It's pretty sad actually since there's something special about getting a mag in the mail and going through the pages wondering what's inside. Reading all the latest news on the web just isn't the same for some reason. Too bad the majority thinks otherwise.
  7. They have 3 Xbox controllers on there but not a single Saturn one? Not that the US Saturn controller was any good mind, but the Japanese version is one of the best controllers ever for 2D games. Oh and no Game & Watch either? Nor a Neo Geo Pocket? Click Stick for the win! Not to mention the original Neo Geo stick.
  8. Sure! Always nice to see more people help out. But please also make the releases as CBZ files as they are still our preferred and primary format for magazine scans.
  9. Yeah, you see that all over the place. Just take a look at your average gaming message board and you'll see at least 80% of posters being negative about, well about everything really. I hate this, I hate that.... That's why for the most part try to steer clear of that stuff. You might not agree with what you read or hear, but at some level it does affect you even if it's subconsciously. And before you know it the negativity becomes a part of your daily live. Just like Thor said, even the news does this all the time. War this, terror that, deaths here, murders there. After a while it makes you look at the world with different eyes and you might as well become a part of the problem yourself eventually. That's why you will more likely than not see me talking about the things I love instead of the things I hate.
  10. I'm just lucky to have a good connection. It costs way too much (over $100/month), but we don't have many good alternatives over here.
  11. Gamer's Republic Volume 2 Issue 07 December 1999 has been put up on rapidshare. Next up: the PDF versions of EGM.
  12. A bit late to reply, but I've been in bed for the most part. (the flu) From what I've seen I think it's all just plastic. But it still looks sweet to me.

  14. I'd love to see more shmups and fighters myself.
  15. You can also easily drop the 3DO, Jaguar and 32X from that list. And by 1995 NES was just about as dead as it could be and the SNES was starting to run on it's last legs. MegaDrive wasn't up to much anymore and Saturn had barely started even though it was out before the PSX. Same thing. Lynx was a non factor and the Game Gear wasn't much better. Well ok, it was quite a bit better, but still. And look what happened when MS entered....Sega had to bow out of the race because there wasn't enough to support 4 consoles.
  16. I'm not sure what good this would do at this time to be honest. There's barely enough room for 3 players in the console section (you can see the 360 and PS3 cannibalizing each other) and I don't think a 3-way race in the handheld world would really work. As for myself, I'm not the least bit interested. Certainly not when I see just how few I tend to play my PSP, which is barely at all these days. Can't even remember the last time I turned it on. Must have been after WipEout Pulse came out somewhere.
  17. Yuji Horii just confirmed Dragon Quest X for Wii! Looks like things are going to get even more crazy in the years to come. Oh and there will be a special case released for the DSi when Dragon Quest IX comes out:
  18. I so want to pick up the game for myself, but the financial crisis isn't helping much. So I'm trying to hold off until I see how much it costs in MediaMarkt when I go on Friday. The online shop normally use which always seems to have great prices is selling the game for €42 and the microphone for another €35!

  20. The remaining Nintendo Power issues are up on rapidshare as of now. The only remaining things are the supplements.
  21. Any list that doesn't include Crazy Taxi fails in my book. Bonus points for mentioning Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Rez, Cosmic Smash and Under Defeat though. Not that that would be my list.
  22. Damn. If you do get a new one in the future, Canon Lide's are very good from what I have seen.
  23. Video Games and Computer Entertainment June 1989 uploaded. The remaining Nintendo Power issues coming soon.
  24. One clip to rule them all! And one to say goodbye to a true legend:
