  1. Thinking about it even more, I would recommend a 4in1 cart for the Saturn so you could play Japanese games. Plenty of incredible import only games to find in it's library. Many more then the USA/Euro one that's for sure.
  2. Hehe, that's probably a good thing to get those dreams out in the open from day one so there doesn't need to be lots and lots of bargaining and compromise to get a game room. That's the one thing that is great about being single. Off course there are serious downsides as well, but lets not go there. Don't want to go do bed feeling depressed.
  3. 4 extra controllers and 120$ for 2 PS3 games? Are they completely crazy? Who in their right mind pays $60 for games these days? With all the online deals that you can find, at least here in Europe, I'd be crazy to pay the local shops 60-80€ for Motorstorm Pacific Rift for instance when I can buy it brand new online for €30 or less. Same goes for just about any game. Even street Fighter 4 is only €34 at this point, as if Resident Evil 5 and Valkyria Chronicles. And when you count the goodies that can be found on the PSN store that only cost between $5-15, you'd be surprised how long not too much money will keep you entertained for a looooooooooooooooong time. I've had my PS3 for what now? 3-4 weeks? I have about 16 retail games I think and besides WipEout HD, Stardust HD and Lumines on PSN, I have only played Virtua Fighter 4 and Sega Rally for a couple of hours. Even though I have all those others sitting there in shrinkwrap waiting to be played. I just don't need them atm. Oh and even though everyone knows how much I love retro games, I couldn't honestly recommend picking up those systems you've mentioned. But as I see it, all those combined will have a very hard time to entertain you as much as a single current gen console. Unless you don't have a MegaDrive, then the Nomad is certainly worth getting.
  4. I feel like I have to start off with an apology yet again. (seems like this is becoming a recurring event...) I certainly wasn't planning on taking this much time to release my next scan, so for the people who have been waiting for it, I'm really sorry it took this long. Several things came together and created a situation where I didn't have time to do everything that I wanted. Working on a yet to be revealed web project that is taking lots of time to get it just right, starting on doing quite a bit of renovation work on my house, and when that was just about done I got around to after a long wait finally being able to pick up a brand new 46" plasma along with a PS3 and soon to be Bluray home theater system. So you can imagine after the weeks of slaving away clocking up 16-18 hour days most of the time, I needed some relaxation time so I could enjoy my new toys. The next issue (which starts off the Radiant Silvergun coverage btw) looks to be in pristine condition, so the editing work should be minimal compared to issue 30. The biggest time was probably spent on getting the Grandia Guide looking as good as new again, so I hope you enjoy it. There's so much good stuff in this issue that I won't even bother naming it, as it would end up being about half the length of the table of contents. So without further adieu, let me present you: Official Sega Saturn Magazine 030 - april 1998 (UK) Download page here. Rapidshare link
  5. When you do, don't let people tell you that plasma's are inferior to LCDs or stuff like that. The one thing better than a Panasonic Plasma would be a Pioneer Kuro. Sadly they won't be selling them for much longer. It's my second day of playing around with mine and I love it! I would certainly go for the new G10 series, it seems to have all the connection options you'll ever need and so far I haven't been able to find a single flaw. Also when looking at sets, be sure to think what size TV you want and pick one size higher than that. I was planning on getting a 40" since that is supposed to be perfect for the room at the distance I'm sitting from it, but several people over at ntsc-uk mentioned that it was worth picking one size larger than the "optimal size", and I must say, they certainly are right about that.
  6. Woot! Finally got my new 46" 1080p Panasonic Plasma delivered this morning. First thing I did was plug in my Japanese Saturn to see if it had any negative side effects playing retro games. Turns out it's just about as perfect for retro games as it is for anything else I've been throwing at it all day long. From WipEout HD on PS3, to Saturn over RGB scart, Dreamcast over VGA and Wii though component cables. Been enjoying my very first Bluray movies as well. So beautiful! Whoever keeps saying that the Wii looks like garbage on a HD tv is full of it. Been playing Mario Kart and it looks great! Loving the Simpsons movie as well. Didn't think it would be this funny for some reason after reading quite a few negative comments about it. Video streaming through my Macbook Pro with a VGA cable also looks considerably better than through the composite cables I had to use up till now, so that's a nice bonus. In short, for anyone looking for a nice big tv that can handle 1080p stuff like the best, as well as do retrogames justice, without scanlines off course.... I can wholeheartedly recommend the TX-P42G10. (or the 40",50" version for that matter) I'm so glad I didn't go for the old model which they tried to sell me since they didn't have the new model in stock last week. My Bluray home cinema should be arriving in a couple of days as well, so I finally seem to be having a bit of luck. (knock on wood) I'm totally broke now, but at least I'm happy. So happy...
  7. Nah Youtube is fine for 99% of the links. It's only Hulu and some other video service I've forgotten the name of.

  10. Couldn't have said it any better myself. Just so you know, there have been certain members in the past which were very vocal about making the download system (not just the download manager, but rapidshare and everything) available only to people who either scanned a certain amount of magazines, or paid for them. First of, just to clarify: we aren't asking people to pay to download magazines. Everything you see on here is free, that's one of the ground rules of the project. Everyone can access the rapidshare links and most do so without any problems or complaints. By donating to the site you don't buy any of these magazines. We don't owe them so how could we sell them? What you do is help us acquire more magazines for the project as well as pay all the server costs and everything that comes with running a website. Back to the people that wanted us to become some sort of private club, which seems to be the way you mistakenly view the project and it's members. Whenever the point was brought up to make this more of a closed project, we have always stood firmly against any such actions, believing that everyone and anyone who visits the site should be able to grab the magazines that are on here. We state on every release we do as well as in other parts of the site the following: And we all stand 100% by this.

  12. While not really a retro purchase, it's still something that I'd count as a nice retro gaming achievement. While waiting for my new 46" plasma to arrive in 2 days, I've taken my old 32" Panasonic widescreen CRT upstairs to the bedroom along with the DVD home cinema system and decided to TATE the old 27" Philips 3:4 CRT to be solely used for shmups. Been playing Layer Section, Dodonpachi, Battle Garegga, Strikers II and Batsugun that way the arcade God's had intended. oh, I do have a retro purchase to add: A second Japanese GameBoy Light system (gold this time) to accompany my brand new silver one which is still in it's box.
  13. Oh, I downloaded the demo from the USA shop a bit ago. (God I love that feature! Remind me to pick up lots of Japanese PSone classics! ) Everything looks wonderful and plays just as well. The demo only has a 1VS1 versus mode though, so you can't even play vs a computer opponent. I'll be sure to pick this one up when it's released. That reminds me, while browsing the USA shop, why hasn't Castlevania SOTN been released in Europe! And why can't I have a Xevious avatar in Europe either! :(

    Movie Purchases!

Hmm I'm gonna have to check out I am Legend now. From others I've heard it was so-so, so I never bought it. But I'll get it sooner or later. Sadly yes, I've heard about the American direct to DVD The Grudge 3. But seeing as how after watching the first US version I couldn't bring myself to watch the 2nd one even though I bought them at the same time, I have no interest in seeing a 3rd one like this. Not having Takashi Shimizu as the director seals the deal. I'm probably biased since unlike the Ring movies, I've seen the 4 Japanese Ju-On movies before I ever saw the US remake. I love those ones to bits, even though Ju-On The Curse 2 was basically just half a movie with the other half being a revisiting of the first one. Can't describe how much I hated the Buffyfied one. :( It just wasn't right. But I've gotten used to the fact that the bulk of US remakes of asian movies are made to simply cash in on their overseas success. Just look at Bankok Dangerous, A Tale of Two Sisters, The Eye, One Missed Call, well the list goes on. On the other hand they can be done right, just look at The departed (Infernal Affairs) and The Ring 1. Although I still prefer the originals.

    Movie Purchases!

Not really. Bluray movies cost between 25-30€ in the regular shops over here, but on the web shops like thehut.com and blahdvd they do promotions all the time like 2 bluray's for 18£ and such. Those are selected titles off course but still. Something like Chunking Express which is one of my favourite movies ever cost around €18 I think, but for something like that its certainly worth it to me.

    Omgwtfbbq!

Now normally I find that pregnant women can be very sexy, but somehow these two were able to turn me off completely even though especially the blond one should be cute in normal day life.
  18. While I'm a huge MK fan, and I do mean huge in the way that it's my most played game on both Wii and DS, not to mention the Snes and N64 or the GBA one for that matter. But I would not like to get this one the new play control treatment at all. Unless it would be updated with an enormous amount of retro tracks as well as the Wii MK racing engine (Without the damn bikes!) But looking at those points they would much better make a brand new game. One where you'd be able to download classic cup packs for $5 or something. I'd buy every single one of them.
  19. Sorry for the delay in putting the last couple of releases up. It's been an overly hectic week so I barely get to do anything but work. But everything should be on rapidshare as of now. It can be so that the releases over the next couple of days won't be rapidshared until the weekend. If that happens, I apologize in advance.

    Attack Mbj!

Error There has been one or more errors. The following error(s) were found: You cannot attack someone that is in your guild. You cannot attack when you are dead.
  22. I'll be buying this on the DS the day it comes out. Loved the first 2 and the system is just perfect for these kinds of games with the touch screen and all. Only thing I'm hoping for is that they fix the constant loading screens Galactrix had on the DS. That was so annoying.
  23. merged the topic and had to do some surgery on it since the posts were arranged by posting time. Your invalid point is invalid again and again.
