  1. Nah I didn't follow it that closely, I do remember trying all kinds of attempts to adapt the code over to SNES(hmm, no C button but I could try X or Y!). Plus I never had a Genie for SNES anyway.
  2. If that's true then why even bother with gaming on a PC? Just get an Xbox One or whatever and be done with it.
  3. I agree with you here. With a lot of these games requiring check-ins online with these DRM servers what if they decide they don't want to maintain them anymore?
  4. I remember some envelope art or letter art in Gamepro. Some of it was quite good!
  5. YES! I really enjoyed that game when I beat it last summer. I'm currently working on a ton of stuff. I have a backlog of about 15 Xbox One games, 10 PS4, countless Wii stuff, 30+ 3DS, SOO much crap for 360 and PS3 (especially with the free games I get every month from Live and PS+), plus the Steam stuff. Ugh, I'll never finish. The only games I can really get dedicated to are mobile stuff so 3DS and Vita. To answer the question of the post: Starfox 64 3D(just trying to gold medal all levels) and Senran Kagura on 3DS.
  6. Cost of entry is too high for most people. Console games are way more accessible. Honestly what kind of games can you play on a $350 pc? Not much, only old stuff really. Don't get me wrong, I have a pretty decent PC but I think a lot of people saying that PC gaming is cheaper are probably just pirating software.
  7. I immediately thought of the Konami code even before clicking the post. Blood code was a good one too. I remember wanting a Genesis JUST FOR THAT because my friend could play MK in all its bloody glory and I was stuck with the lame SNES version with barely any blood.
  8. When I got my PS2. I was the first out of all my friends that got one and it was just so awesome and advanced at the time. I could play DVD movies and amazing games, it was just incredible.
  9. I was just at the grocery store one day and it was the only videogame magazine they had and I begged my grandma to buy it for me. She actually used to work for one of those telemarketer services that sold subscriptions so she could get me Gamepro and Nintendo Power practically for free. So I had those coming in and I would buy EGM off the newsstand. I really can't choose between EGM and Gamepro being my favorite from the old days. I really got addicted to them because they featured tips, tricks, and strategies that I never knew about. Keep in mind I had no idea about strategy guides until a visit to Electronics Boutique to pick up MK3 on Genesis.
  10. EGM was my gateway mag. I used to love them all though, I can't really choose one.
  11. I have a Lenovo Flex 3 (15" screen) that can flip all the way back so it's like a huge tablet. Then I use Sumatra Portable to open the .cbr and read it feels like I'm reading a magazine!
  12. Mine was Electronic Gaming Monthly issue 76 (Twisted Metal Cover). After that I started buying all kinds(Gamepro, EGM2, Tips and Tricks...). I used to have hundreds of issues, but sadly I got rid of them.
  13. I think it's a good thing. Sometimes you just want to play the game and skip the BS. If you don't like the features, don't use them and play them as they were intended to be played.
  14. I got an awesome deal on my Vita. I'm pretty sure this thing is at the end of its life though. There's nothing but a lot of obscure Japanese stuff and RPGs coming out for it, not a whole lot I'm interested in. It's a great system, I love the graphics and the build quality(same for PSP, I was blown away by it compared to Nintendo handhelds) but for me, the STUPID proprietary memory card they went with has turned me off. $80-100 for 32gb is outrageous. The 16gb is almost within reason when it's on sale but even then that isn't enough room for very many games. It's the same thing they went through with PSP and the MSProDuo and THOSE overpriced cards. They keep saying they will continue supporting the Vita, but I just don't see it. My local Walmart has 4 games for sale for Vita. They don't even sell the system or it's accessories lol! Target has nothing related to Vita. Its just dead, which is a damn shame because I think it is superior to 3DS in almost every way.
  15. Been waiting so long for a Shenmue sequel....so I guess my wish has finally been granted! Hmm...other than that I'm just waiting for not just any sequel but THE sequel. Half-Life 3
  16. I'm thinking the next systems to go retro will be PS2/Xbox/Gamecube generation. So, it's about 15 years old already, something like that. I think a lot of people will be trying to reacquire the classics on those, and there are TONS of great games for those systems.
  17. I still have not beaten the original Super Mario Bros. on NES.
  18. Okay, so I got a Vita. I picked one up at a pawn shop for $70, so that helped a lot with my decision lol. I bought a ton of PSOne Classics with the Essentials Sale that was on the PS Store. I think the only actual Vita game I bought was Tearaway.
  19. The last system I bought was a Playstation 4. I already had the Xbox One. I'm extremely satisfied with both systems! I recently acquired the SNES so that's been the center of my attention recently.
  20. 3DS for sure. These days its the only handheld that isn't struggling. I wanted to get a Vita but I couldn't justify it with the small library of games.
  21. @imwiseguy But Notch doesn't have anything to do with its development any longer, right?
  22. I paid about $50 total for all 4 games. Super Metroid I bought(and just received today) for $50 itself. I'm pretty good at soldering so I could easily replace any of the batteries or other replaceable parts on a pcb.
  23. Pitfall was my favorite. That's all I played until we got our NES. It was all Mario after that.
