  1. Haven't seen this one before, looking forward to taking a look!
  2. Yes, you could do worse... ::looks over at Fighting Secrets III:: ugh...
  3. Yeeeah, I picked this up used on the good faith of how historically Brady Games fighting game books were usually good (see their Mortal Kombat guides in the 90s, and the VERY good Street Fighter Anniversary guide). This... um...ew. Even the blah publications that are their Lion King and Donkey Kong Country 3 guides are better than this...
  4. A MUCH more interesting guide than it should be (for basketball, I know Michael Jordan, Muggsy Bogues, and... The Chicago Bulls were good? I'm from Georgia, Basketball is something that occurs briefly during March for College teams... ) In seriousness, this is more interesting as a time capsule than an actual guide to the game.
  5. I miss the EGM2 format before the mag became Expert Gamer, but glad to see more copies uploaded! Lots o Nostalgia here!
  6. Thanks! (on a side note, by the time NBA Jam was a thing, it was a rare occurrence for me to see any Arcade machine that was less than 50 cents a shot, usually it was the odd Galaga machine in the corner. )
  7. Many Thanks! I have the 1999 version of this guide, which is one of the VERY few guides that has anything on the DK Land games...
  8. Thanks! One nice thing about these old code books is that on occasion it is easier to pull up secrets n codes from these than the internet these days. Heck, the other day I used an old Jeff Rovin book to pull some codes while playing on my Evercade.
  9. Thanks! The early BradyGames Playstation Unauthorized guides were actually very good, though they did seem to degrade in quality about the same rate as Prima's counterpart guides; I have some of both in my office library, and... well, let's just say that by the later Prima PSX Guides they got sad. The BradyGames were REALLY good at first, but... well, people apparently paid money for less work and content...
  10. Out of curiosity, has anyone translated these magazines for those that cannot read Japanese?
  11. Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on the GBC/GBA/DS Tomb Raider games?
  12. LOL, the descriptions are hilarious as always!
  13. By the way, for anyone trying to use this as an actual guide when playing Link's Awakening, do NOT follow the enemy order for Dungeon Two for getting the Nightmare Key... Not sure what wire's got crossed on this guide, but the correct order is the Pols Voice (the "rabbit" critter within the boxed space), then the Keese (the bat), then the Stalfos (the robed skeleton that spits arrows at you). This section alone confused me and my dad for weeks when we first played this, as this was our first true Zelda game each back in ye olden days. Nowadays the riddle makes sense.
  14. LOL, couldn't guess you liked Tomb Raider. Never been a major Tomb Raider fan (I didn't get a PSX until the VERY late 90s, and I was more into Crash and Mega Man games on the PSX. That and Legend of Dragoon...), though with the ongoing collections being produced for the Evercade system, I'm hoping to see a Core collection that includes Chuck Rock Jr and Tomb Raider.
  15. Thanks, had never run across this guide before.
  16. I had this one at one time, bout 15+ years back. It, along with the same publisher's copy of Mega Man X guide, have since been lost to time...
  17. Certainly nostalgic to flip thru this; as you stated, not nearly as detailed as the official Nintendo Power guide, but still one of the better published Super Metroid guides (a fact that is all the more true when you factor in the gazillion "e-book" guides that have appeared in recent years that are less detailed and more dried than this book ever thought of...
