  1. The best part of that story was that you "recorded the soundtrack on a tape recorder." That's so awesome, seriously. Do you still have the tape?
  2. I don't have any, but I'd be very interested in checking them out. Same goes for the Game Players discs, though those might have come only with Ultra Game Players, I'm not sure.
  3. Thanks marktrade. Looking forward to the completion of Next Generation/NextGen, but definitely excited to see some of these Game Player's PC Strategy Guide issues afterwards. Keep up the awesome work!
  4. They don't show up on eBay that often, but when they do, they tend to sell for a fairly low price.
  5. It seems to be missing from the database. Yes, another magazine from the whole Game Players/Player's mess! Here are a couple examples: http://www.amazon.com/GAME-PLAYERS-STRATEGY-GUIDE-August/dp/B002ACQDN4 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Game-Players-PC-Strategy-Guide-Volume-4-Number-2-April-30th-1991-/111820449601?hash=item1a0904a741%3Ag%3AfWkAAOSwu-BWQSzk&nma=true&si=5TUPKihGNqPH%252FcLU%252Ff8IjinuwG8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  6. Played Ice Climber and Pinball on my Everdrive N8 the other night!
  7. Not directly related to the topic, but miketheratguy, I have to say that I appreciate the tone of your numerous posts on Retromags. You seem like a really friendly person who's here to make a positive contribution. It hasn't gone unnoticed!
  8. Awesome, thanks. Do you have more Game Players/Player's issues coming up?
  9. Hi. I have a suggestion for the Missing Magazines page: Please include a zero or two zeros before single digit issues, depending on what number the missing issues go to. Here's an example of how it is currently: Game Players Nintendo Guide Issue 36 April 1992 Game Players Nintendo Guide Issue 37 May 1992 Game Players Nintendo Guide Issue 38 June 1992 Game Players Nintendo Guide Issue 39 July 1992 Game Players Nintendo Guide Issue 4 November 1988 Game Players Nintendo Guide Issue 40 August 1992 Game Players Nintendo Guide Issue 41 September 1992 https://www.retromags.com/missing_magazines.html#.Vp7rdUtORg1
  10. Bought a Japanese Sega Saturn a few days ago, in preparation for the Rhea I'll have soon. Can't wait to finally check out Nights into Dreams…
  11. I recently read an interesting article/blog entry by Jeremy Parish on the topic of game preservation, and I figured some Retromags users might find it a worthwhile read. http://2-dimensions.com/2014/07/27/by-request-game-preservation/
  12. Yeah, I hear you. Perhaps making the green arrow buttons on the last issues of Game Players: Nintendo Guide and Game Players: Sega Guide go to Game Players (1993) would be a good idea. Ultimately, the magazine's history is obviously one big mess.
  13. Hey, sorry to contradict myself, but having the last issue of Game Player's (1989) link to Game Players (1993) isn't correct. Both Game Players Nintendo Guide and Game Players Sega Guide went through May 1993, and then merged in June 1993 to form Game Players: Nintendo Sega, aka Game Players (1993). Interestingly enough, it changed to Game Players: Sega Nintendo in January 1994, and stayed that way until the June 1995 issue when it dropped the big subtitle altogether. (You can see all of this on the covers in the database.) In reality, Game Player's (1989) should just end with the October 1991 issue (though for some reason they dropped the apostrophe from "Player's" for that issue). Maybe putting the full title of Game Player's: The Leading Magazine of Video and Computer Entertainment (see front covers) would make sense to distinguish it in the database. And just FYI, each magazine's "title" in the database is missing the apostrophe (see below). Not trying to make things difficult here, just trying to help. https://www.retromags.com/magazines/category/usa/game-players-1989/#.Vpm7LEtORg1
