I de-binded mags with a clothing iron, a cheaper alternative. You just have to place a paper towel on the bind and place the iron on it. Work the iron up and down it until you feel the bind heat up and start peeling the cover and pages slowly. It sometimes wont peel at first just apply more heat and the glue will get so hot the pages will peel themselves.
