Released 1995 on SNES Elite Systems Ltd Games 1991 Joe & Mac Caveman Ninja 1992 Dragon's Lair 1992 Eric Cantona 1992 Striker 1993 The Adventures of Dr. Franken 1994 World Cup Strike 1995 Dirt Racer Dirt Racer is a racing game which is set on five off-road courses and offers three different vehicles (truck, buggy and stock car). The player participates either in a league (three divisions with eight drivers each) or a tournament with a knock-out system (also eight participants). The races itself are always one-against-one and the winner is who has the best end time. If the player drives in the water or against another obstacle, time is lost and the car gets set back on the course - but only for a limited amount of times; after that the race is lost. The controls feature two different acceleration speeds and three different braking strengths. Up to eight players can participate in the events, but the racing itself is limited to two at the same time.

Released 1993 on SNES Releases by Date (by platform) 1988 Apple II 1988 PC-88 1988 PC-98 1989 MSX 1989 FM-7 1989 Sharp X1 1989 Sharp X68000 1989 DOS 1989 Commodore 64 1990 Amiga 1990 Macintosh 1991 Genesis 1993 SNES The space traveler and rogue guardian Sheltem has left the world VARN, where he was pursued by the relentless Corak the Mysterious and a party of local adventurers helping him. The Gates to Another World eventually takes all of them to another world, known as CRON. There, a great turmoil is caused by Sheltem's actions, and the heroes must stop his madness, preventing him from casting the planet into its own sun. Gates to Another World is the second installment in the Might and Magic series, and a sequel to Secret of the Inner Sanctum. Core gameplay is similar to predecessor, with the player creating a party of six characters and exploring vast first-person 3D environments, while fighting enemies in turn-based combat and leveling up. Unlike the first game, enemy encounters occur at set points rather than spawning randomly, though enemy type selection is still random. Like in the previous game, character classes rely each on a particular attribute to be effective. Knight, Paladin, Archer, Cleric, Sorcerer and Robber return, with the addition of two new classes, Ninja and Barbarian. Race selection features humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, and half-orcs. There are several locations and items that are restricted to certain genders, alignments, or races. A new feature is the possibility to hire two non-player characters to travel with the party and participate in battles. A new skill system is introduced as well, allowing characters to learn such abilities as mountaineering (necessary to traverse mountains), linguist (for reading certain messages), cartographer (for creating an auto-map), and others. Compared to the first game, the sequel is more quest-oriented, with various characters in towns giving quests to the party, as opposed to purely exploration-based traveling in the predecessor. Time also plays a large role in this game, with some instances requiring the party to travel to different time periods. Characters also age as the game goes on; If the player waits too long, the characters' statistics will change to reflect their aging, and they will eventually die.

Released 1994 on SNES Releases by Date (by platform) 1994 SNES One Player only 1995 Genesis One or Two Player 1995 Megadrive One or Two Player 1995 Game Gear 1995 SEGA CD One Player only Konami's game based on the 90s animated series starring the Caped Crusader sends him against his most famous enemies in a platforming/beat'em'up title. Each of the game's eight levels (or episodes) sends Batman against one particular villain. Most levels present Batman with a large number of henchmen to take out and environmental dangers to avoid on his way to one or more boss battles, but some deviate from the norm. For instance, Catwoman's stage is a large chase over Gotham City's rooftops with no enemies besides Catwoman herself. In the Penguin's level, Batman must navigate the dark corridors of Gotham City's museum, rescuing the staff. Two-Face's level is a driving sequence, seen from a top-down perspective. Besides kicks, throws and punches, Batman can use a variety of equipment against the enemies. Always available are Batarangs and the grappling hook. Before each mission, Batman can also select additional equipment, like knockout gas spray, throwing stars, smoke bombs and plastic explosives, all with limited ammunition. Special equipment required for certain levels include a flashlight, gas mask and X-ray goggles. If some necessary equipment is missing, it is always possible to return to the Batcave to change the gear and then restart the current level. Many of the situations and environments of the levels are based on episodes from the series and the game's graphics emulate the animation and drawing style of the show.-

Released 1992 on SNES Releases by Date (by platform) 1 1992 Game Gear 1992 Genesis NTSC 1992 Megadrive PAL 1992 SNES 1992 SEGA Master System 1994 Game Boy This version of Taz-Mania is different from the side-scrolling versions by Sega, in this version the player controls Taz from a third-person perspective. The goal of the game is to travel down the road, collecting Kiwi's before the timer runs out, avoiding obstacles along the way. The Kiwi's will get harder to catch as the game goes on, jumping over Taz and actually outrunning him at times. Some obstacles Taz faces are trees, telephone poles, tour buses, even pterodactyls who will bring Taz back at the beginning of the level, but also have to avoid characters such as Axl & Bull, a pair of gators who try to capture Taz for the zoo, The She-Devil who is in love with Taz and if the player is caught by her, the game is instantly over and Wendal T. Wolf, who will jump on Taz's back and cover the screen with his hands making it hard to see. You can avoid some obstacles by using Taz's tornado spin, but using the spin will cause Taz's health meter to drop, but it can be refilled by eating Kiwi's along with blue and red birds, bushrats and items thrown to Taz by Didgeri Dingo, but beware, he can also throw obstacles at Taz as well including T.N.T. There is also a bonus stages after completing three levels in which you collect as many items you can in the allotted time to raise the score.

Archer Maclean's Super Dropzone (PAL) (UK) (EU)
Adrian77 posted a gallery image in Video Game Box Art
Released 1994 on SNES Releases by Date (by platform) 1994 (SNES) 2002 (Game Boy Advance) 2003 (PlayStation) Super Dropzone: Intergalactic Rescue Mission is a sequel to Archer MacLean's Dropzone. The game takes place ten years after the happenings of the original game. Back then a selection of the finest humans in the world went to an expedition to Jupiter's moon Io in search for valuable minerals. They were attacked by an alien race that the player had to defend them from. Now they have managed to establish bases on three more of Jupiter's moons, Callisto, Ganymede and Europa. The alien threat is still real however and they still need to be protected by the player. The gameplay is mostly the same as the original Dropzone although it features some new weapons and end of level boss fights. The player controls a spaceman with a jetpack and can fly in all directions above the moon surface while killing wave after wave of aliens. At the same time the player has to protect the ten people that are assigned to the moon by taking them to the dropzone landing pad. The action takes place on the moons mentioned above as well as on Jupiter itself. At the last level on each moon the player has to defeat a planet guardian. To do this the player has to hit them in their glowing green nerve centre that is exposed at times as they move around. Each wave starts with all remaining humans being beamed up by a leader enemy and to release the men it has to be defeated. -
Released 1992 on Super Nintendo Different names in different regions snes NTSC Out of This World snes PAL Another World Both games are the same. Releases by Date (by platform) 1991 (DOS) 1991 (Amiga) 1991 (Atari ST) 1992 (Genesis) Out of This World 1992 (Megadrive) Another World 1992 (Apple IIgs) 1992 (SNES) 1993 (Macintosh) 1994 (3DO) 1995 (Windows 3.x) 2005 (Symbian) 2006 (Windows) 2007 (Zodiac) 2013 (Jaguar) A young physics professor named Lester conducts a particle experiment. Suddenly, something goes wrong, lightning strikes, and in a moment Lester finds himself in a strange alien world. Now he must fight for his life, first with his bare hands, then with a gun he finds. But what gives him courage is that he is not alone. One of the aliens who escapes from the prison together with him helps him on his dangerous quest. Friendship can overcome all obstacles. Out of This World combines shooting, platforming, and puzzle-solving elements. The game is divided into stages; some of them are straightforward and can only be accessed one time, while others are connected to each other, constituting a larger environment. Exploration and problem-solving are emphasized. Many levels include challenges not seen in the previous ones. Tasks may involve environmental puzzles, timed sequences, precise jumping, and combat. Typically, enemies are defeated by using an energy gun found in an early stage. The gun's regular function is shooting energy projectiles. By pressing down and holding the fire button the player can activate an energy shield that protects Lester from regular attacks, allowing him to fire from relative safety until it evaporates. Finally, by holding the fire button even longer the gun creates powerful blasts which can disrupt shields. Most enemies are equipped with similar guns and are able to perform the same actions as Lester. Fighting enemies, therefore, requires tactical usage of regular attacks, shields, and bombs, as well as learning enemy patterns...

Super Alfred Chicken is a side-scrolling platformer. The evil Meca Chickens want to produce a super army by cloning Alfred's friends. Of course Alfred has to stop them now. The gameplay follows the genre standards: Alfred walks through the 21 levels and needs to avoid enemies/obstacles by jumping over them. Every contact with enemies is deadly except when using Alfred's dive bomb attack. Occasionally there are simple switch puzzles to solve, mostly in order to find secret rooms with goodies. Examples for power-ups are hidden watering cans (collecting all unlocks a different ending), additional time, temporary invincibility or diamonds (100 reward an extra life). Balloons on the way act as restarting points after death. In some instances, the level ends with a boss fight.

ActRaiser was one of the early SNES games, drawing upon the success of side-scrolling platform action titles and the building model of Sim City. You play "The Master" (essentially God), and must save the world from evil. First you purge the land by sending your spirit into a warrior with a big sword and magic powers. This side scrolling portion puts you in many different locales, from swamps and forests, to pyramids and snowy mountaintops. As you eliminate evil from different parts of the land, you allow villagers to return and build their towns. You then control an angel who helps guide the villagers in their town building, and can send down miracles to aid them in their needs.

The evil Bydo Empire returns in this entry of the R-Type series. So climb into the latest R-Type vessel, the R-90, and blast through six side-scrolling levels on your way to destroy the Bydo mothership. Gameplay is still the classic R-Type way with huge levels and bosses. With your detachable laser unit, you can fire in front or behind your ship. R-Type III now features three different kinds of laser unit, selectable at the start of a game. Each offers different laser types depending on the power-ups collected.

You play Buster Bunny, in a series of levels, featuring characters from the Tiny Toon Adventures cartoon. Most of the six levels are platform levels, where Buster has a number of attacks to defeat the enemies he faces. These include kicks and jumps, and a dash ability that lets you slide into enemies to defeat them, and also climb walls. The fourth level is an exception, and consists of a game of (American) football, played with a simplified version of the rules. The idea is simply to get a touchdown, while as usual progressing at least ten yards in four downs. There are two plays: a running play, where you simply run as far as possible while avoiding the opposing team; and a passing play that starts with a pass that can gain you extra yards, but must be caught. Between levels there are bonus games. You spin a wheel to determine what game you play out of five available.

The first four levels act as a prelude, as the player guns down waves of metal Terminators across a post-apocalyptic Battlefield, a besieged Human Hideout, and through the security checkpoints of the enemy supercomputer SkyNet. After destroying the computer, players travel back in time to protect John and Sarah Connor, while also destroying every scrap of SkyNet research at the headquarters of its manufacturer. From there, players must fend off the indestructible T-1000 until the final showdown in the Steel Mill. Assets from the movie are used when possible, such as voice clips from Arnold Schwarzenegger, and close-up digital stills of Robert Patrick for the final battle against the T-1000. The Genesis and SNES versions also support lightguns (the Menacer and Super Scope, respectively).
