  1. Ive been enjoying these PC Gaming World issues, I dont think I ever bought any of these over the other pc mags of the day. Its great to see them now. Thanks, MegaDanny.
  2. Thanks for this - its great to have these when going through an older game like this one that are worth a look. And it's the Perfect Guide version! It's NOT worth buying the Sub-Standard Guide version. That one is horrible.
  3. Thanks for taking the time to put these together with such great care. I will make sure to go through them all soon when I have time, but I have enjoyed the few I've looked at so far. I'm glad they are preserved here (or at least, soon to be).
  4. thanks @Rodrigo2012 for the donation. Looks like some good reviews in here.
  5. A poster folded in 16 parts? I would want to die. Did you normally have to try to piece them together and line them all up into a single image?
  6. Wow, so close. But please dont feel like you need to track them down. I do like this mag, like some others, but I am thrilled to have so many issues today. To only be missing 4 from very early on in the run is very impressive, especially as we get close to these being 30 years old (it should have launch around 1995). Thank you for all this work. Im glad I got to see so many of these.
  7. Poor @marktrade, just got on. But respectfully, of course. Both scans look good. I love that the "kitsunebi editions" are growing.
  8. I want this guide. I got the new remastered version of the game so it would be nice to see how they wrote this back then. Thanks for letting me know this is out there.
  9. so this is the 1988-1993 set? then there's the 1994 or 1995 relaunch?
  10. Looks great. I love every "kitsunebi edition". They must be a lot of extra work. Its nice seeing 3DO ads in such good quality.
  11. I haven't watched it recently, but Michael J. Fox says "you slug in a ditch" in The Hard Way. I thought this was odd at the time, but its been a long time since I heard it. It is ALSO a very bad TV edit, so its hard to find, but that might help. I wouldn't be surprised if other TV stations did something similar, so James Woods possibly was dubbed saying it too. Die Hard 2 also had a very famous TV edit I remember watching.
  12. That one is from Scarface (1983), a cop is talking to Tony. It was a relatively great line from back then but the reason it's not as well-known is because it's actually from the TV edited version, which you don't see often anymore. Originally the line was "eating p*ssy" but they changed it to "eating pineapple". Thanks for reminding me about this one.
  13. thanks for preserving these. 100 years from now, people will forget about Best Buy but they will remember this magazine thanks to your efforts.
  14. are these different in some way to what was previously available? Is it a bigger file, higher detail? I got the entire torrent from back when the mag was shut down.
  15. I never realized we're so close, that's great!
  16. I have gone through MANY issues of GamePro and EGM, sorting out the ads, articles, and reviews that I wanted to keep. And I can confirm that in your average issue that is 200+ pages, I have set-aside 80-90 pages for ads (for both GamePro and EGM) that I would keep for myself, and there was easily 10+ pages of ads I didn't need. I don't know about 50%, but 40% or more is an easily achievable number from what I saw. Both of these would sometimes have three 2-page spreads of ads right next to each other.
  17. The Japanese themselves don't really buy video game consoles that aren't made in Japan, I've heard it's just a cultural thing. It's no secret that Xbox consoles don't sell well in Japan, and I'm NOT talking about just that the sales are low, they are nearly non-existent when it comes to a world-wide scale. The number of Xbox consoles sold in Japan across ALL generations is only 2.3 million units. That includes the Series X/S. The weekly Famitsu issue in 2022 posted the numbers, and gamepur reported it. According to the report, the 360 accounts of 1.6 million of that figure. Japanese developers still do make and release retail games on Xbox, obviously, but they know there is very few Japanese players that will pick them up. Nice sales figures. Thanks for those.
  18. Thank you both for bringing these to this website, @MigJmz and Delphinus48. This version of PLAY is one of my favorite UK magazines. Very professional looking and I liked the writing. Thanks for finding and scanning these for all of us to enjoy.
  19. Page numbers are messed up in PDFlite 2.0. Is the Sumatra or YAC reader way better? I was looking for readers that recognized the comic book formats a long time back and PDFlite was one I found. It worked and was free, but so are these others you guys mentioned. I just like scrolling through pages with the mouse wheel.
