  1. I'm glad we got as many as we did. I don't want to hear about you mortgaging your house to buy more @Gamer issues. EGM2 was worth having a complete collection, but we don't need every issue of the Official Gaming Magazine of Best Buy, if it sends you to the poor-house (which, I understand, is a cardboard box -- not actually a house) lol.
  2. Ranks are always meaningless, but I didn't want to be a "newbie" forever when I started. But I did want to thank each person for each magazine I have downloaded, so if it takes me a few years -- then I will do it, even if I can only respond to 30 at a time.
  3. As best I can tell, the limit should be 30 responses in 24 hours (so "like, thanks, haha," and so on). I was trying to leave a "thanks" for every issue I have downloaded, and that's how I found it. I thought it was dumb, but it does keep me from going up 2,500 points in a day just to rank me up faster, so it's understandable.
  4. I wondered why Famitsu were so rough -- I thought I needed to update the firmware or purchase an app add-on or something. That makes sense, thanks for the details. I remember hearing that 20 years ago, but that was before being able to translate things digitally. Good to know.
  5. You are a legend. I will come back when I have more "likes" to give, since I just ran out. I was trying to help you get up to 2,000 rep lately. So I hope you get there soon.
  6. Wow, 440+ downloads in only 25 mins! That seems fast. Thanks for putting this one together. I always love seeing new Xbox mags.
  7. Great find. I believe you said you bought this one with your own money, and it wasn't cheap, but we all appreciate the dedication to your craft. Another FULL collection now available to all you visit the website. You must be so proud! Good work.
  8. I go there to get some hard-to-find ones, but when this website has them i always quietly replace the other copies. Your 341MB scan easily beats the others out in quality, but I forget when Saturn Fan was originally done. 5 or 10 years can make a difference in scanning tech or availability to some people. I love the Dengeki PS ones you put out. I do need to get a tablet, trying to translate with a phone can be a little tough, like you said before.
  9. Yes, hot damn! I was here! (that's what the kids say, right?) This is exciting! I knew you were hanging on to it -- just waiting for the right time. Great work, buddy. I tip my hat to you [insert hat-tipping emoji]
  10. Oh boy. We got about 9 or so left, I believe. It great seeing these more modern mags.
  11. I enjoy Sega Saturn coverage, especially the dedicated magazines so thank you so much with this. I tend to download nearly all mags based on videogames that I can get my hands on, just in case some disappear forever or get lost, so I will always download any Japanese VG mags you put up.
  12. Thanks to matrixman for the donation. and for the scanning from, dablais. It's easy to joke about the magazine that came from Best Buy, but their promotional stuff isn't out of the ordinary in the issues themselves. Just a few logos. It's been great seeing all of these.
  13. Happy Christmas, hard to believe there's only about 10 more issues for this mag. I'm surprised we have around 20 already. Thanks to the one that donated.
  14. Thanks for this issue MigJmz, and the Sega Sports NFL 2K1 Prima Guide earlier. I appreciate you putting out mags around the holidays when you could easily take this week off. I hope you still find the time to spend with family. Oh, and please thank whoever had the idea for the "snowfall" on the website... a very nice effect (I never saw it before).
  15. This was one of my favorite mags back then -- great cover art, and the personalities of the editors was so memorable. Good coverage and very solid writing.
  16. This is a LOT of responses for an issue of @Gamer: The Official Magazine of Best Buy. I bet those new to the site are impressed by our dedication.
  17. Wow, what an epic description. This is something you don't get when you just download one of the massive torrent packs. Thanks for the short history. I have a few of Bill Kunkel's books but I never got the one mentioned above. Thanks for bringing me here, Areala. You were right, probably the best write-up on a file I've seen on the site. Very informative.
  18. I can be both? I though that was against the bylaws! I read the Charter like a good Newbie (haha). Kidding, I didn't even know about Oldgamemags, so I really appreciate you mentioning them. I do love Nintendo Power, GamePro and EGM though. The few sites I found had free downloads, but they throttled your speed and they had a limit to how many you could download in 24 hours (I think another had a 3-day limit). I got a few issues of Retro Gamer I was looking for, but it wasn't worth the time-sink to get more. THEN you had to be a member to have access to anything beyond the first few years of a magazine, I believe. So you had to PAY to have decent SPEED, and also PAY to be a MEMBER, in order to have full access to everything on the site. I understand it takes money to run a site, but I wasn't sure what was acceptable for mag sites -- so thanks for clarifying that. I've been downloading from here for nearly a decade, and eventually that message got to me, "Please consider signing up and saying thank you to our Team Members!." So I did that so I could say thanks to all of you:)
  19. I've seen others post that those nearly 300-page EGMs were a slog to get through. I can see spending the time to scan 3-5 at a time, then editing as a group later. Its damn find work -- from everyone on the site. This is one of the best organized sites for mags I've seen, but then several ask for money to download content, so I usually don't stick around long since I just don't have the extra money at times.
  20. This is fantastic. I love PC Engine content, especially right from Japan since you reminded me about using Goggle Lens. Any contributor that put info in the "About This File" section instantly becomes one of my favorites on the site -- everybody that does it, even just once. It adds so much to the experience when you can find out some info before you download that file.
  21. I appreciate the hard work putting these together, especially around the holidays. I absolutely love anyone that fills in the "About This File" section with content information or backstory on the scan itself. "huggles" back at you for that.
  22. I'll remember to look for the "scanner" listing in the future. Sorry about my comment, I didn't mean anything hurtful by it, that's why I took the time to say thanks. I don't know all the different ways the files are made -- I'm just happy to see anything that is preserved. I know now that you scan everything yourself, that's a lot of dedication. It must take at least a few hours per issue to do that, right? [taking the mag apart, scanning each page, cropping the size down to the pixel, color correction fine tunning, and compressing it all done] if I got that right. I'm perfectly fine with using pre-existing files if it cuts down on the workload for some of the members. I think color-correcting would drive me crazy, trying to get that right balance would take me forever. before I would be satisfied. Thanks again for your commitment.
  23. Who knew they made a Dead Space 3? I swear most people only says there's two main games. Weird, huh? lol
  24. I appreciate the work it takes to put these files together, even when it seems like they might not get lots of downloads. I don't know if you scanned these from scratch or if they are converted from another digital source, but thanks for taking time around the holidays to post/submit them.
  25. damn, dablais. Christmas is around the corner and you're still pumping out magazines like you and kitsunebi are in a race. Good job, but I hope both of you can still get some family time in with your respected kin.
