  1. I wanted this so much as a kid after seeing it in VG&CE
  2. I have the same issue as @slartibartfast when I use SumatraPDF (it will open CBZ files.) The issue is that the naming convention does not have leading zeroes for numbers less than 100. Some readers don't have "smart sort" so they will order it incorrectly. So the file names are currently like: Image0 Image1 ... Image15 Image16 ... Image150 Image151 ... It should be Image000, Image001, Image015, Image199, and so on to make sure that all readers sort the pages properly. Perhaps we can make this a stickied suggestion for scanners/editors?
  3. Oh, and finally, at the end where it discusses hooking up your NES to a VCR or computer, it talks about male and female plugs and says "If you need further explanation [of why these are called male and female plugs], you'll need to ask your father" haha
  4. Here's the "interview", really just a comment by the artist: http://dreamandfriends.com/2011/03/05/news-of-the-world-updates/
  5. This tweet said it was "jacked" as if the art was stolen, however as far as I know the artist *was* commissioned and paid for his work. The Game Boy book does have the same artwork as Tourist In Paradise.
  6. Oh, and the front cover artwork for this and the next book -- if you look up The Rippingtons you will see this publisher used same artist who The Rippingtons used for their CD artwork. I wish I could track down the link, but I read an interview that where he said that he wasn't sure if the publisher really loved The Rippingtons or just found him randomly in a artist directory...
  7. This was the first one that I bought...well, my dad bought it for me, ha. It was sometime in 1990. There's a part at the end that describes hooking up your NES to a VCR. Our computer at the time had a CGA card, and CGA had composite out. I thought it was composite IN and thought I could hook up the NES to our PC. My dad didn't even let me try to do it, ha.
  8. If you can believe it, the one I had was even older than that, although it was the same author (Andre Lamothe.) It was called Tricks Of The Game Gurus (notice the lack of 3D, ha) and was published in 1994. It is funny since it was his first book to cover 3D games but he forgot to put it in the title, haha! The marketing department at Sams must have wised up by the time they got to your brother's book...
  9. Wow, thanks for another great upload. I had the prequel to this book where it was about generic 3D programming, and the prequel to that prequel "Teach Yourself Game Programming In 21 Days." These are fun books to read from a historical perspective.
  10. https://www.inverse.com/gaming/resident-evil-25-composer-mamoru-samuragochi-impostor
  11. Thanks so much for posting these, Areala. The scans look good to me. As for the music -- the original Director's Cut, the one that was a 2 disc set that included the Resident Evil 2 demo, included the original music. The bad music did not get added until the Greatest Hits version of the Director's Cut
  12. Can you clear up a bit of confusion -- from what I am reading here you have issues 129, 136, 137, 141, and then 142-285?
  13. It was a semi-national mall-based store (mostly California, but it did reach as far East as Connecticut) who also took phone orders. I believe it was eventually subsumed into Gamestop like most other similar stores.
  14. E-day -- reminder, I have that October 92 issue of VG&CE. I do not mind donating it, however I cannot currently afford the shipping back and forth. I know how pathetic that must seem, haha, but I am on that ridiculously tight of a budget this year. But the offer stands. It is a great issue, to me their best issue, but that might be what personal meaning the issue has to me, ha!
  15. I do not, sadly. IIRC I did donate it in 2008 or 2009, is that the bad scan?
  16. I do have the October 1992 issue (listed as missing for sure) with the holographic Sonic 2 cover. I would not mind donating it, but it is one of the few items that I have from around when my dad passed away, and I don't think I could bear it being debinded I am really sorry.
  17. I had donated quite a few VG&CE here way back in 2009ish. And then, for reasons I cannot recall, the scans were taken away by the scanner? Or are they still here? I ask because I swore I donated a few that are listed as "missing" now...
  18. Yes this is a great guide. It helped me through Metroid and Rygar as a kid.
  19. Thank you @E-Day. I have the stickers (still stuck to their original paper) for this guide. If I can get a good scan of them, would you like to add them to this scan? Thanks!
