  1. No, the problem was Nintendo, and their restrictions on third party publishers that said that if they publish games for the NES, they cannot publish for any other system. That is why apart from Activision and Parker Bros., every SMS game in North America was published by Sega. Of course, Nintendo's tactics were eventually found to be illegal, which is why the Genesis had fantastic 3rd party support. None of this applied in Europe, however, where Sega had full third party support, and easily trounced the NES over there.
  2. Yes. FFVII was good, and at the time very impressive. But as soon as I played VIII, and then IX, VII wasn't that great anymore. It was good, but not nearly as good as the overhyping of it suggests.
  3. I just changed it I also added/changed logos for Atari Age, VG&CE, Mega Play, Nintendo Power.
  4. If it is only $25 beans to mail all those EGM2 issues to me in Canada, then I would like to take then in for scanning. Send me a message letting me know how you want the shipping costs (I am assuming paypal?) I have nothing to scan, while people like triverse already have too much to scan
  5. Not only would I pay customs, but FedEX/UPS/any courier would charge me an additional $20 for the "convenience" of them taking care of things at the border for me. Hence why I never buy stuff on eBay that is shipped by Courier.
  6. So who here wants to take off their clothes?
  7. This site needs almost all of your EGM2 issues. I live in Canada, and shipping would be insane for all those. Otherwise I would request them. Hopefully someone else on here in the States will want them.
  8. Fantastic! With the EGMs you have, we are no longer missing any issues. We were originally missing issues 23 and 104, but thanks to you, we have access to all of them. Any chance you could scan those two issues soonish? There are also a lot that you have that were already uploaded, but in horrible condition.
  9. Bought Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure last week. Really fun game. Rythmn Heaven looks kind of interesting, though I am not sure I would enjoy playing it longer than the demo available on the Nintendo Channel.
  10. GTA is getting praise from every magazine and site that has reviewed it. It may not look that pretty, but apparently it's an excellent game.
  11. No one has sent me anything to scan yet. Triverse was going to send me some EGMs, but the cost was insane (fat issues and all). I have plenty to edit, but it's not as enjoyable as editing something I have scanned. But it will keep me busy until I get something to scan.
  12. GamePro and EGM2 now have logos on the index wiki page. I am going to work on getting logos for other magazines up, as well as getting nicer versions of other logos already up (the Gamefan one hurts the eyes).
  13. I just donated $10. I figured I might as well do it now instead of wait. I have nothing to scan, so perhaps when you get them you can send a couple to me for scanning (I'll pay shipping).
  14. That idiot wouldn't have the balls or intelligence to do so. He was always a whiner, and the fact that he tried to make it sound like ANY scans of those NP issues would be his scans ripped off, even if someone else scanned then (because honestly, unless the pages are creased, the pages will look almost identical). He was dead weight, and unappreciative of this site and the people who help out.
  15. I was borin in '78, before the NES. Never had an NES as we had a Master System. We rented an NES once, and weren't impressed.
  16. I find fighting games, whether 2D or 3D, boring as watching a turd dry up. I like beat-em ups like Double Dragon and Streets of Rage, where there is a level to walk through, and enemies always coming at you. With fighting games, it seems like it's the exact same thing all the time. Different background to not interact with, different opponent, but always the same thing: fight for up to 3 rounds within a limited space, over and over again. At least for me beat'em ups have backgrounds you can intereact with and actually have you progressing through the levels.
  17. Cosplay has to be one of the nerdiest and lamest rhings around. but that chick in the first post has a nice set of breastages, though very fake breastages.
  18. I just hate it in general. Granted, I haven't played SFIV, but I hated SFII and every iteration of it, so I don't see this game being any different since it's the same premise and structure.
  19. I had a letter published in Nintendo power late last year. It was pretty nifty.

    Web Slice

Yes, but at least the option for a Web Slice exists now. And unlike an RSS feed, your mail client won`t be flooded with all the changes. It may not be as versatile as Web Clips where you can make your own, but it is better than nothing

    Web Slice

IE8 has a great new feature called Web Slices, where users can add little snippets of a web site to the favorites bar and monitor their updates. Once I get my computer up and running properly again, I am going to look at making a web slice for the "Recent Magazines Submitted" box. On top of getting back into doing other stuff for the site (wiki, scanning, etc).
  22. From Joystiq: At Level-5's panel at the Game Developers Conference, director Akihiro Hino showed a list of current projects, including Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, an English translation of the name of the second Layton game. Later, during the Q&A, someone asked Hino if the sequel was being localized for North America and Europe. Hino responded that he wants to release all six Laytons (including the new trilogy), and that Diabolical Box is indeed in the midst of localization -- he hopes to have it out in six months.
  23. Geez, $10 each is steep. I remember getting one with Altered Beast on the cover in the mail back in the day. The good old days.
