  1. I'm in the 0.1% of people who can tell the difference . I listen to mp3s when I am on the bus or at my computer, but I absolutely refuse to listen to MP3s on my home theatre. That's like watching YouTube crap on a 1080p TV: a total waste! If albums were released on DVD-Audio discs instead of ho-hum CDs, I would be buying a lot more albums instead of downloading the songs I like in crusty MP3 format. MP3 is good enough for what I use it for. Just like JEPGS are good enough for what we are doing here. If I want a printed copy of a magazine, I am not going to print off a scanned version from here; I'm going to buy an actual issue off eBay or somewhere. Since these scans aren't being printed, they are perfectly fine for viewing on a computer monitor
  2. I have to take a break from that game for a few days as my arm and elbow hurt now from playing it too much yesterday.
  3. I had no problems when playing the Western levels where you need to shoot a pistol at the bad guys. But when I was required to throw bombs ant incoming bears and raccoons trying to steal gems, that is where the controls screwed me over. After flicking the remote to throw the bomb, the game wasn't fast enough detecting that my cursor was pointing back at the screen instead of off screen. So on most of those levels I only managed to get bronze, and in some cases, just barely. Idislike those levels and the shooting ones with the laser. I adore the ones where you have to dismantle things and blow things up. BUt anything witth shooting flying blox or repelling incoming hordes annoy me.
  4. JPEGS are fine for what we are doing. IT's not like we are scanning these magazines for printing, where something other than jpg would be better. But since these are for displaying on a 72 dpi computer screen, you are not going to see any difference between the two unless you are zoomed in 100%. And because magazines are scanned at 300dpi, you will only see a tiny bit of the page at once, so no one would really be zoomed in 100% anyways.
  5. There is not a scratch on the disc. When when I stay on a menu screen, it's constantly reading the disc. I don't think it caches anything on the system since there are zero load times. That might be why it constantly does that. Anyhow, I tried the game again with the regular sensor bar and adjusted the sensitivity to 5. Same problem as before. Often, after I flick a bomb at the bears/raccoons trying to take my gems, the cursor remains stuck. Sometimes I have to smack the remote to get the cursor moving again (there is nothing wrong with either of my remotes), sometimes waving the remote around wildly gets the cursor moving again, and sometimes after several seconds the cursor starts moving on its own again. Needless to say, it interferes greatly with the levels where you have to throw bomb balls at moving adversaries trying to get you or get your gems. The rest of the levels seem to work fine. Another annoyance with the game are the shooting levls where you have a laser gun and have to shoot point blox flying through the air. Anytime you hit A to shoot, the cursor moves. Terribly annoying. I might just play through the non-annoying fun levels, and forget about the rest of them. I have plenty of other games to play. Hopefully they fix these problems with the upcoming party bash.
  6. I'm going to give it another try later tonight with the regular sensor bar. There is nothing interfering with the signal as every other game works perfectly. No glass in the livingroom except for the actual tv screen
  7. I decided that Boom Blox sucks. The game itself is great, but I don't know if they did a piss poor job programming this game or what. While playing, the disc is constantly being read, making noise and being annoying. That wouldn't be so bad on it's own, however, it also affects the gameplay. The constant disc reading seems to affect the Remote cursor. That or their code for the remote tracking sucks. Often time after doing something, like removing a block or flicking the remote, the cursor will stop moving on screen. It starts responding again after several seconds, but this is not acceptable, especially during timed stages and such. I nearly snapped that game in half after playing the second adventure challenge where you have to stop the bears and raccoons from stealing your gems by throwing bombs at them. After throwing a bomb, I cannot move the cursor for several seconds a lot of times, which causes problems when trying to stop 102 enemies from taking your gems. Is anyone else having these problems? I have read about a lot of other people having this problem. I am using a wireless sensor bar, but I doubt that is the issue since every other game works perfectly. I will try it with the regular sensor bar, but I doubt that will change anything. If it doesn't, I am not keeping this game. The problem is way too frustrating for me to tolerate it since it affects how well I do in the levels and thus what gets unlocked and what doesn't.
  8. I have no plans to buy any of these yet. I always wait and see what rating various critics give the games (I find that anything getting 7.5 out of 10 or more turns out to be a very enjoyable game for me). Depending on the reviews, I have my eyes on the following titles: BOOM BLOX Bash Party Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings Klonoa The Conduit Let's Tap The Legendary Starfy Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars I have the first Boom Blox and love it, but have barely played it. The creating and sharing of levels really intrigues me about the next one. I'll have to play through the first one before starting the second one.
  9. I am most looking forward to Klonoa.
  10. Stuff like this (from May 2006)? All of the trashing I gave was for good reason, and all of it was true. You should be thanking me anyway....my decision to do my own release is what motivated Philly to throw out his "one issue a week" rule and get everything he had out there, since he felt he had to compete with mine Well, I've finally reached my goal of acquiring issues 1-100 of Nintendo Power, so my presence is going to be limited again here. Thanks to everybody who helped out with this project!
  11. That Motorstorm video looks great, but the actual game will not look anything like that. Kind of misleading of Sony to show pre-rendered video on a PSP screen, trying to suggest the game will look just like that.
  12. Not to mention that you couldn't get a white one even if you wanted it, for racist reasons or otherwise
  13. You have to have a real hard-on for Capcom to be able to make full use of those features. And not mind looking like a total dork.
  14. Pass. I'm actually going to buy a second DS Lite as a backup before the DSi launches, since the DS is known to break at the hinge and whatnot. Unless they release another New Super Mario Bros. or Zelda game that can only absolutely be played on the DSi, I am passing on this. I am not interested in those other media features all that much.
  15. Definitely GamePro. Enough with EGM already
  16. Triverse has that issue, but hasn't gotten around to scanning it yet. He may be able to help you out
  17. Boring. I always hated Street Fighter. Any 1-on-1 fighting game, really. I found them uninteresting and tedious, trying to learn all those moves. I guess that was to try and make up for the lack of story or change. It was just one three-round fight after another. Yawn. I always liked beat-em-ups. They are kind of repetitive too, but at least you could walk through the level left and right and up and down, and find weapons and stuff to use. Super Double Dragon was great. I have zero interest in this game, especially for the price it will go for. I'd rather spend that kind of money on Legends of Wrestlemania if it turns out to be a good game.
  18. I didn't see any ads that I remember.
  19. Because it's a "Special Collector's Issue"
  20. I saw this too. It looks pretty neat, but I am not a big enough fan of Nintendo Power to spend $13 on this magazine.
  21. I should start playing that game. But I have so many others that would be quicker to play through so I could get them out of my hair. I wouldn't mind a new Zelda for the DS. The last one was brilliant.
  22. At least the 360 has the downloadable episode for GTA. By the way, the link is broken.
  23. Any of the Lego games (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman) are fun. Even though they are on the PS3, the Wii versions have some motion control, which makes the game a bit more interactive.
  24. Ah. The way you had worded the post made it sound like it would be scanned the day after voting ended. Your message to me saying to expect it Sunday also threw me off
