  1. I had thought about that, but found that interupting a word on the last (silent) letter was odd . The changes made to the Thank you page are great, by the way
  2. If the rapidshare idea is used, then there should be a rapidshare account made for this site, where everyone who uploads can log in to it and dump the stuff there. Would MegaUpload not be a better choice. As far as I know, they do not have a file size limit of 100 megs. At least not if you have a membership, as far as I know.
  3. Basically no matter what you do, there will always be people who create multiple accounts to leech stuff. The best way is to do what Phillyman does and check for clone accounts and ban them. No computer or program will ever best human intervention
  4. Don't forget that even if you only allow one account per IP, the person can can still use a proxy to get a different IP and register anew. That used to be a pain until the add-ons for Netscape/Firefox came out. Now it's a matter of a simple click. But it should cut down on the number of scum cloning accounts so they can leech more. I know the world economy is tanking, but is $2.50 really that much?
  5. On the missing page, shouldn't Castle have an "e" on the end?
  6. Once again, NewsBot, you have proved your uselessness. Good job.
  7. GamePro all the way indeed!

    The Mags I Have

Scan it all! I am sure some are already available on here, but you might be able to put up a better quality copy. A lot of the EGMs are in need of upgrading
  9. By far for me it's Sonic the Hedgehog 3/ Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I can't even remember how many time I have played through this game. The Blue Sphere game when you connect Sonic The Hedgehog to Sonic & Knuckles also ate up a ton of hours many years ago.
  10. They technically have the ability to release games from all the old systems. Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, Intellivision, Collecovision, GameBoy, Lynx, Jaguar, and so on. It would be an unrivaled repository of retro goodness.
  11. Nope. I like the look of SMB3 in Super Mario All-Stars better than the NES version, colours and all. I was never a fan of the graphics on the NES. I'd like to see more Master System games on the VC. Game Gear titles would be welcome too, as would 32X and Sega Cd games, though the storage limitation is an issue with that last one.
  12. Well, because this is tha capital of the country, just about every museum and gallery is looked after by the federal government. As are a lot of the parks and some roadways. Yet this city still manages to always need more and more money even though they don't have to look after these things. I don't mind museums being publicly funded, so long as the museum is useful (museum of history, nature, science, civilization, etc are all excellent).
  13. Socially liberal. Which brings financial liberalness along with it. Ottawa is a mixed bag. The mayor here is fiscally conservative and somewhat socially conservative as well, but most of city council is very liberal, which is a problem. We have problems with roads and infrastructure and things the city absolutely must take care of, but they insist on "funding" the arts with $60 million a year. Housing in Ottawa is expensive. You can't get a simple, run of the mill detached family home for less than $200,000. that's like 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, smaller than average house. To live comfortably, it depends on how much debt besides a mortgage you have. My wife has a pretty big student loan, and dishes out about $320/month on it. But we live comfortably. Combined, we make about $85K, with no car and living in a Condo Townhouse, which are much cheaper to buy than a house. You could get by on less if you don't have any major debt apart from the mortgage. The property tax rate here is 1.24% (0.98% for the city and 0.24% for the school board). On a house assessed at $279,000, that would be $3557. It wouldn't be as bad if the city wasn't wasting money on stupid crap constantly. This end of the Ontario is more expensive than the areas west of Toronto for some reason. Maybe because we aren't as close to horrible Toronto as they are
  14. California is too liberal for my liking. Plus the heat. I don't like the heat. Hopefully not. Conspiracy theories, and more so the people who swear they are true, drive me nuts. At least it was proven that their most popular claims about the faked moon landing were very very false. Thanks, Mythbusters!
  15. Because this is where I was born, and it's a pretty good place to live. Plus, you guys don't exactly have small government in the US. But if the New Democratic Party ever gets into power federally, I will probably leave Canada and claim political exile since they are way too socialist for anyone's good And I suggest you watch how you speak to people here, MATE. And show some evidence of what you are saying apart from you saying that that's how it is. Documented evidence; not you giving examples which have no proof of being true. This isn't a stupid conspiracy theory thread. Don't ask him, as he'll say yes no matter what. I have not heard of such a thing, and just sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. I think the reason it's always democrats and Republicans getting elected is because that is who the media always focuses on, and the only parties at any debates. People don't get to hear much about what other parties or independents are saying, and people are afraid of the unknown.
  16. Between Green and Libertarian, I would pick Libertarian 120 times out of 100. The smaller the government and less intrusive it is in your life, the better
  17. Can you explain exactly how it works in the US? I have found it a bit confusing when they talk about it on TV. Regular votes, college votes (or something); I don't get it. In Canada, it's first-past-the-post. The country is dived into ridings (308 of them) and political parties run candidates in those ridings. People vote for the candidate in their riding. The candidate who wins gets one of the 308 seats in the parliament. The party who wins the most seats forms the government.
  18. But if you run for political office, then you will be owned by international bankers. Then what are you going to do? You'll push the same agenda as well, according to you. If you don't like the two main candidates, then vote for an independent.
  19. IT has two cameras. a 3 megapixel one on the outside and a smaller one on the hinge beside the mic. I am not excited about it either. the fact the GBA compatibility is removed is a major reason I don't want one. I would only get one if they release an absolute must-play game (like New Super Mario Bros.) that is only DSi compatible. I am hoping that doesn't happen as the DS Lite I have now does what I need it to, and that is play awesome games
  20. Do do you need to register to vote in the US for every election? In Canada, we don't have to worry about that. We get voter cards saying we are registered. If we don't get one, we can show up on election day with ID (at least one with a photo), showing that you are who you claim to be and that you live in that riding and they register you on the spot. Plus we can update our address every year on our tax form. Putting down people who don't vote is good. They deserve it
  21. The Retromags Wiki is the closest thing I could find to a list of what the site already has (in possession, scanned, and released). There is no list listing what we are missing, though it wouldn't be a bad idea to have something like that.
  22. Gimp is apparently good. Or, if you want to be a bit of a petty thief, Photoshop CS3 is excellent.
  23. I found the debate pretty interesting last night; certainly more interesting than the Canadian leaders "debate". I found it pretty close, with both of them making sense on several points. But I think McCain will get the victory, even though Obama winning would be terribly historic.
