    Mort

Philly, is this the same Mort that you got me some scans from? On topic, it would very negatively affect certain "connections" I have made over the years to have something like a DVD come out with something like "Endorsed by one of the owners of Retromags.com!" or something similar to it come up for sale. One way you could get out of it is to politely mention that your first concern is the RM project and preserving magazines here first and foremost, that a DVD release for sale would undermine the project and cause irreperable harm to it in the long run. Something like that.
  2. Mass Effect now is coming to iPhone. Thanks to kotaku.com for the news and screens.
  3. VG247.com has the games that will become available on June 1st through the various Nintendo download services: The main concern for many fans of Space Harrier is, which version is this going to be? The pic they offer up for it is below and appears to be the arcade version to me. Space Harrier has been on many systems and it is possible that they may pic the less than best port here. You can check the wiki for information on where and what systems it and it's sequel have been on.
  4. Some news on the remake of the original Silent Hill for the Wii thanks to vg247.com.
  5. How you got all of that out of hulks message I will never know. I do know of many intelligence agencies that would love to have you on their payroll though.
  6. Someone with too much money, obviously. Not really sure why someone would buy the game for that much though.
  7. Apparently the rest of the company is up for sale now: Quote thanks to VG247.com. Kotaku.com has a similar article available too for those interested in this situation.
  8. Batman Arkham Asylyum is dated for August 25th. Thanks to VG247.com for the pic and news. In other news for the new Batman game, there is currently no plans for multiplayer, again thanks to VG247.com:
  9. Taken from the US Playstation Blog site: Notables this week: Resident Evil: Director's Cut for PSP. People requested it and complained about the lack of it being available so go get it now and show Capcom some support in this area. Judging by their track record, they will bring more if it is popular (read, profitable) for them to do so (look at the support they threw the Dreamcast).
  10. Seems Sega is getting into the classics more and more, finally adding updates to them, rather than straight ports according to Joystiq.com, many of their upcoming titles are reworked for HD televisions, online leaderboards and network play. Joystiq.com also has a video of the games for you to view. Shacknews has a little more information on the games coming and on what system they will be released for: Most of the titles will be available on June 10th or 11th. Each will be sold seperately for an as yet unannounced price. Sonic and Knuckles is the only title listed without a definite release date.
  11. Another confirmation that this is for real: http://kotaku.com/5273086/electronic-gamin...nthly-to-return
  12. Terminator Salvation is on iPhone, thanks kotaku.com for the news.
  13. This is definitely not Batman: The Animated Series, check out the new shots from kotaku.com and check them out for more shots.
  14. Apparently Ico will be coming to Little Big Planet also: Thanks to kotaku.com for the info.
  15. Has anyone purchased RE:DC for PSP yet? How is it if you have. Did they change anything?
  16. Take the Dreamcast, drop the GD-Rom drive, use SD or some other proprietary format of their own media, make a rechargeable battery for it, install an LCD screen (widescreen or not, touchscreen or not, whatever just get one in there), include TV out with normal cables, maybe a port for a second controller at the minimum. Release the system as a handheld.
  17. Retroaction is looking for US based e-zines, self published magazines, diskzines, fanzines, etc. for a future article. Know of any? Are you someone that published one in the past? Still publishing one? Post your information here and if possible a scan or two of your publication.
  18. Looks like Wolfenstein is getting remade for XBox 360, PS3 and PC's coming August 4th. http://kotaku.com/5271782/wolfenstein-will-be-out-in-august
  19. Seems that Sega is getting back into hardware, slowly but surely. The Sega Vision is currently just about everything but a game system (with updated versions later that could play games). http://www.seganerds.com/2009/02/04/atei-s...ision-hands-on/
  20. Interesting that the US Air Force (by sponsoring) is getting into releasing games now. Area 51 from 2005 for PC's is freeware. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_51_(2005_video_game)
  21. s1500, welcome to Retromags, I am glad you have decided to come over and are participating here on the forums. It is going to get interesting soon so hang out for a bit, enoy the reading material available. The Mustek A3 must be huge if you can open a magazine and scan the open pages at one time. I am going to have to check into one (although I am lookg for something that is compatible with Linux). You can add pictures to your post by going to a site such as Imageshack and uploading it there. Just make sure to click the link or preview pic they give you till you get to where it is just the picture you uploaded on the screen and nothing else. Copy the link in the address bar and click on the button up there that looks like a squarish thing with an orangish dot in it (second from the left). You aren't the only one that remembers those crappy handheld scanners. Paste the link in that window that pops up and click ok. If it is done right, you will see your pic in your post (you can check it with the preview option). Here are two covers of the 3 I have so far that I am editing for s1500 for those interested in what issues he has donated:
  22. We would appreciate any mags that you are willing to scan. I have the first several issues of Videogaming Illustrated that I am editing for s1500 and he is sending me more. Kitsune and Waremonger have a pretty good, nearly complete set of Electronic Games that they are working on.
  23. Chrono Trigger all sealed up by some group called VGA or something like that. Any thoughts on this? http://cgi.ebay.com/SNES-Chrono-Trigger-Ne...93%3A1|294%3A50
  24. I have already begun work on a second interview with him, a more detailed account of how the Game Doctor name began, where it has taken him through life and how it became it's own persona. He is a great person to talk with and is quite active on the J2games.com forums. Check out this post from him, it is now at 6 pages and growing and is amazing some of the stuff he talks about. From what I have discussed with him (meppi will get a kick out of some of the stuff he knows about wrestling like I did) Bill comes off as someone that has a lot to say and nowhere really worthwhile to say it. I am sure he is more than welcome to post his thoughts and such here, hopefully the members here will show him the respect he deserves (he is a prankster though, read some of those posts over there on J2 and you will see). As long as this is interesting to the members here, it will probably be a series of interviews so it is up to the members and visitors here how far it goes.
