  1. Probably just as tempted when my first wife found out what my boxed Halcyon and both games was worth (too bad she threw it out the window on the freeway when she was mad at me...ha, I got the last laugh on that one, I think).
  2. Well, apparently, 3D Realms is gone but Take Two has the rights to publish Duke Nukem Forever so it is possible it will be released someday. http://kotaku.com/5243277/is-duke-nukem-de...-gone-for-good-[update]
  3. Title fixed to reflect the issue in question. Phillyman for sure has that issue. There may be other members that have the issue that may be willing to scan it a little sooner though.
  4. Cover uploaded. Thanks for the hard work you are putting into the wiki.
  5. Thank you for the heads up on that minor mistake (yeah, minor, um, yep ). I must have gotten cross eyed writing it up. lol
  6. It is not available yet (also stated in the opening paragraph there that it will be available soon). Sad to see them go but for those in the know, we saw it happen at least once already with Gamefan. Axing a pretty decent mag after the new owners of the parent company show no interest in it. Sad.
  7. Due to the overwhelming amount of fun and interesting things happened in May 1999, 1994 and 1989 Retromags is doing a three part look at May in History. Without further ado, Retromags presents Part 3 of May in History: May 1989, probably started out like most any other month but if you were into entertainment in just about any form, there were some big happenings. If you were a gamer then you probably were excited to see Taito release Operation Wolf on the NES, Tengen released what would become an unofficially licensed version of Tetris (get a copy of Game Over for the scoop on the mess surrounding Tetris) and Arch Rivals is released in arcades thanks to Acclaim. Magazines were still not considered mainstream and were often viewed as slightly below comics (which had collectability on their side). Still at the time May was a very important month. EGM #1 and Gamepro #1 were released this month and it was the beginning of change for the industry as a whole, video games and magazines based on video games were changing. So was the world for that matter, May 1989 saw the opening of Disney-MGM Studios and the Calgary Flames won their first and only Stanley Cup Trophy. Life as the King of Pop wasn't much easier in 1989 as he was the focus of a police call about a suspicious person shopping near a Californian jewelry store. Michael Jackson was shopping in disguise.Harrison Ford reprised his role as Indiana in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. If you had a mom like mine, you know about Dallas and Bobby Ewing and the talk that went on about the Season finale with him caught in the crossfire as a rival tried to kill J.R. (Bobby's brother for those that don't know). TV shows that called it quits this year include the following May 1 - The Benny Hill Show (UK) (1955-1989), May 10 - Dynasty (1981-1989), May 14 - Family Ties (1982-1989), Moonlighting (1985-1989), May 21 - Miami Vice (1984-1989), May 22 - Kate and Allie (1984-1989). 20 Years Ago, you may have seen these issues in your mailbox or at the local news stand: Atarian Video Game Magazine here EGM #1 here Gamepro #1 here Nintendo Power #6 here Video Games and Computer Entertainment here Check out the Wikipedia for EGM and Gamepro for facts and interesting tidbits that you may not have known. The oldest issue from May available here on Retromags.com is one many may not know about or have even heard of but thanks to kitsune it is available here. Ladies and gentleman, Retromags.com is proud to present the May 1984 issue of Computer Fun. Computer Fun May 1984 here Contributors to this section: kbf_private_joker kitsune Phillyman scurti TresHombres Links to the other two parts: 1999 1994
  8. Apparently Richard Garriott was fired from NCSoft, or at least that is what NCSoft wants everyone to think. Check out the below link to find out why Garriott is seeking $24 million in a lawsuit against NCSoft. http://www.vg247.com/2009/05/06/garriott-w...s-space-flight/
  9. Also apparently the Ghostbusters game will be coming to PSP also later this year.
  10. Obscure: The Aftermath is coming in September to PSP also: http://www.vg247.com/2009/05/06/obscure-th...p-in-september/
  11. I have had a couple LCD's but wasn't happy with them (too small) and ended up getting more for them than I paid when 'adding' an LCD to a used computer I was selling. I want to get at least a 19" or so widescreen.
  12. I remember the ads Atari did for the Jaguar which pretty much insulted the user base they were after with the "Connect the Dot"
  13. I am running 1024x768, on a regular CRT monitor (not widescreen). That is why I have scrolls. If I click "fit to width" under view in Opera, it downscales the pics and makes everything fit in the space provided. If I bump up my resolution to 1280x960 then there are no scroll bars but that is a little extreme on a 15" monitor.
  14. I prefer it this way, with the scroll bars and such for pics wider than allowed. Of course, there will be people who complain about that too. Oh well, this seems to be the best fix for it (this way no one really has to be worried about getting a pic just the right size).
  15. I am getting her a Pink DSi as a wedding gift (would do it for her birthday but that is on October 13th and I have something else already arranged) with Nintendogs and New Super Mario Bros and some other games that she is interested in. She also wants a Wii pretty badly (she hasn't really expressed interest in any particular game though-just a blanket look around the Wii section and "look at all of the games I like").
  16. Why do you feel dirty about it? Your a fan and like it (those Zelda games on CD-i fetch a pretty penny on ebay right now-nothing like the $1100.00 Halcyon or over $1000.00 Earthbound but you could fill your car up a couple times from them).
  17. Gamepro has an article up about their timeline (covering the highlights from 1989 to 2009), check it out for some details on issues gone by from the oldest gaming mag still published (if there is one older, please point it out).
  18. I won't spoil it but Gamepro has a list of controversial gaming events up here dating from 1989 to 2009. Check it out. Everyone knows that Thrill Kill and Hot Coffee will be on there but there were a couple of surprises too.
  19. Force Design, a small developer is releasing a new game for the Atari Jaguar. It is a break out type shooting game called Mad Bodies and is available for $80 as reported by kotaku.com.
  20. Very nice there Thor. The pic quality is higher than I thought (although meppi already proved that to me with pics taken with his DSi). You beat me to posting about that strategy guide too. Is it as nice inside as it looks on the outside?
  21. Yep, Ignition Entertainment wants to know which version, from the two available, of the box art you want to see on the release. Go here to vote for the PS3 version: Go here to vote on the XBox 360 version:
  22. Here you go, anti glare screen protectors on ebay for about $6 with free shipping. A little more than a normal screen protector but it will let you play outside with no problems. http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksi...-All-Categories Hidinger, there is Tekken Dark Resurrection on PSP also that you may want to check out, it should be pretty cheap at stores like Gamestop.
  23. Where those are pink, change it to orange and that is what the shoes we had to wear in Marine Boot. We looked like a bunch of technicolor dorks running around (maybe that was the point, to make us stick out).
  24. Ever wondered just how non-violent those older classic games, like Mario and Pac-Man, really were? Check out 8-Bit Fatalities by TastyPaints.com to get one man's idea of just what was really going on in those games and others. Here is about the safest pic I could find so far to show as a preview: http://www.flickr.com/photos/49017345@N00/...57602219725591/
