  1. I am not commenting on the number of issues I still have at my last job that I haven't been employed with since May 2nd 2008 (they are still there, just stored in a nice climate controlled area, where most of my collection here is going to be going till I get a place of my own there). I can understand Philly having issues at work, nothing wrong with that, I mean, everyone has mags at work right? I would probably collect the credit cards rather than use them (I remember just a few years ago trying to collect the special edition coins that were popular in Japanese arcades for Street Fighter II-forget it, you would need lots of $$$). Not to sound dorky or anything but at one point I had furniture made out of the milk crates that contained my mags (a computer desk and an entertainment center than a coffee table).
  2. Life Force for the NES has been added to the Wii Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points: http://www.nintendo.com/wii/virtualconsole...-iWpp3V77ff3J-n
  3. You can re-load it after getting it. No having to get a new one every time.
  4. Not sure if there is much interest in this but here is an interesting option to anyone wanting a pre-paid credit card and also are into Capcom games. http://www.capcom-unity-card.com/
  5. We posted at the same time apparently, well, you beat me to the add reply button obviously.
  6. Scan it when you find it, I am interested in seeing it. Not that I have the nerves to do it (love my little GBA SP) but I could be persuaded to pick up a regular GBA and 'operate' on it.
  7. More than likely it was packed away and no one knew it was there till someone either moved or died. Look at all of those old people back in the mid 90's that had countless numbers of mint condition baseball cards in their attics all of these years. It could happen.
  8. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/...-4s-DLC-Bonanza They list the following under 'not so free' DLC: 320 MS points or $3.99 on PSN, different outfits for the listed characters: 2/17 - Brawler Pack: Zangief, E.Honda, Rufus, El Furete, and Abel. 2/24 - Femme Fatale Pack: Chun-Li, Cammy, Sakura, Rose, and C.Viper. 3/3 - Shoruken Pack: Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, and Dan. 3/10 - Shadowloo Pack: Seth, M.Bison, Sagat, Balrog, and Vega. 3/17 - Classic Pack: Guile, Dhalsim, Fei-Long, Blanka, and Gen. Apparently there will be a free Championship Edition DLC for SF4 that will allow recording matches and such. No information on anything for the Special Edition that is coming out though (probably just the stuff listed above right now).
  9. They are surely going on the basis that there are only 8 copies of it known to exist. If not, then well, that old saying about a fool and his money comes to mind.
  10. Ok, I know this has little to do with Retromags or our project in general but it is a great cause nonetheless and deserves attention. Basically, it is an education assistance program where instead of just aimlessly throwing money at your local school through donations, you can direct your donations to a specific area of interest (say you became a physicist or something and want to give back to the school that taught you the basics of science). Here is there site: http://www.donorschoose.org You can choose by state then click through the various requests for assistance. If you don't see a school near you listed there, they may not know about the program so you might want to mention it to them.
  11. Do you have a schematic or anything for that 'operation'?
  12. I am sure there is more to the story than what was presented there. I mean, in the article they mention that Nintendo is only offering to replace the Wii and GBA, not the set of games that are claimed to be lost. Of course, they showed a burned up Wii too. More than likely, it is a publicity thing for Nintendo in that country (where is GoNintendo printed anyhow?).
  13. Thanks to Joystiq.com for the story. Seems a Nintendo fan's house was burned down and Nintendo is replacing the Wii and Gameboy Advance that were lost in the fire. http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/02/nintendo...-in-house-fire/
  14. Apparently so, thanks yo Kotaku.com for the story. Kinnikuman Muscle Tag Match, known as M.U.S.C.L.E. in the US was sold for just over $10K at an auction recently. http://kotaku.com/5154042/the-crappy-10000-famicom-game
  15. Which is funny because you can complete the circle of turning the PSP into a console needing a TV with the TV-Out cables they made available. Personally I don't use them (not sure if anyone really uses them). But there have been times in the past that I would have loved to have a TV-Out option on a handheld, mainly the early Gameboy systems due to the poor screen they built in.
  16. EGM would probably end up being a write in candidate.
  17. Sorry, but that line had me laughing. Back on topic though, Sony should have looked at history, the battery life issue is usually what killed most of the competition to the Gameboy. I mean, look at the Nomad, awesome system but had a battery life of literally minutes. Game Gear, again great but had so little battery life that it was an enormous drain on the pocket book. Nintendo constantly harped on the fact that they could have done this or that earlier in the life of the Gameboy but they wouldn't because it was too big a drain on batteries.
  18. The problem is that Sony is not supporting the PSP like they should either. I mean, sure, release a great system (console or handheld) and support it like they did the PSOne and PS2 and it will take off. A lot of people will say so what about PSP selling over 50 million units worldwide, that you should look at the games being sold (in the US, I believe the average game sales is around 100,000 to 130,000 units a month). Well, the problem is, Sony is marketing the PSP not just as a game machine, they are marketing it as the all in one wonder for everyone (and everyone that buys one is not going to be buying games).
  19. That (pay attention Sony!!!) or they could release quality games worth buying (again, pay attention Sony with your PSP).
  20. The only thing I can figure is that Sears and Gamestop and TRU have some kind of 'fulfillment' requirement in their contracts. In other words, if the stuff doesn't sell, Midway, or whatever company, would buy it back at the cost it was sold to the store for. That could create a debt going the other way.
  21. I see a lot of $1 million + debts there. And the Warner Bros thing, probably that is for multiple games, not just the one that got released (or it could be the one MK crossover game, that could explain why you don't see many licensed DC games anymore). I agree though: WOW
  22. That is funny, I never thought about that part of it. You are right though, there would be a ton of 'bad' press about it and people without lives trying to get some kind of recognition for 'doing what's right' for the rest of us.
  23. That type of gameplay is fun if that is the type of game that you bought. I mean, I don't care for the job system in the FF games (or at least one that complicated in some of them). Now I am really interested in GOW3, just to know what the story is going to be. lol
