  1. I am interested in scanning my issues of past magazines, I have about 50 already scanned for personal use and am interested in changing what needs to be changed to meet the standards here and upload them. I have gone through the wiki and was just wondering about a few things: 1) Some of my scans are off, just a little, in the angle, not much but if you look you will see the pic is a little off kilter. Is this a problem? Some of the mags I no longer have (moved quite a few times and well, bulky things like a few 100 mags is just too much weight to justify moving). 2) Do I need to run all of them through irfanview and resize the pages and then compile the cbz/cbr file from that or can I just upload what I already have? 3) Thinking of using Rapidshare since I don't have an always on Internet connection, is there a site that would be better? The most critical question in my opinion here: 4) Do I need to scan the ads too? Some mags that I have already scanned I skipped the ads in them to save space since I have been working on a video game archive of sorts and didn't care at the time for the ads, although now I have realised it would be nice to have them at least for that. As far as releases here, do I need to scan the ads? Thanks guys. I am currently scanning my Gamefan collection, just finished the April 1997 issue (the one with Castlevania Symphony of the Night on the cover and a 6 page preview of Final Fantasy 7 in Japan). That is not the oldest issue I have, it was just one that I like a lot. I have issue 3 up missing only a few here and there (mostly their last year in business really).
  2. Anyone remember the issue of EGM that had a letters column with a bare rumped tennis player in an answer to a letter about advertising? That is the strangest I have seen. Also, there was that time in Gamefan were someone maliciously attacked Namco(and insulted Japanese people in general) in a sports review. Sad time there. Really was.
  3. I have two that I know of, one is for Final Fantasy 1 on the NES and the other is a general Gameboy Color issue, do you need these?
  4. I can see what I have on hand, I am interested in getting rid of my back issues as soon as I scan them (pain in the back and pocket book moving 400+ magazines with gas prices like they are now). The floor in my room where I have my mags fell through last night.
  5. Born in 1976, had an Atari 2600 when they first came out. Father decided that computers were in our future (had to siblings) so we got a Color Computer (TRS80 I think), yay! My brother grew bored with it quickly and eventually got a C64, boy that was a pretty penny. Loved the C64, still have the TRS-80 in my closet though. Been gaming all my life.
  6. Adventure for Atari 2600, if that doesn't count then Sword of Fargoal on C64. Again, if too simple it would have to be Dragon Warrior 1 on NES.
  7. The only system that I am really sorry that I ever bought was probably the Halcyon that I picked up from a computer repair store that was going out of business (they had an auction but hardly anyone showed up or was interested in non LCD's or computer towers). Didn't have any of the games for it nor any laser discs (although I did find 15 or so of them for $5 a piece at a local flea market- Star Trek 6 I think it was, was pretty nice on LD).
