  1. I wonder what the chances are of getting an EGM Summer issue this year. The last issue I've seen has been 4 months ago (#266). So if they are "Seasonal" I think we are due for something.
  2. I also got the Star Wars Battlefront cover. Regardless of what they call it I'm going to call it #265 They still show it as being a bi-monthly magazine Game Center is pretty good. I'd be interested in trading the extras I have for other issues I don't have,
  3. I'm betting their loyalty lies with Wal-Mart since they seem to be releasing those on a regular schedule. I'm not sure how many subscribers they have left, but I'm willing to bet it's in the hundreds. At this point it might just make sense to merge the two and extend everyone's subscription to make up for it.
  4. Yeah, it's sad. I hope this picture cheers you up a little. These are the 3 mags I am subscribed to, Electronic Gaming "Monthly", Retro Gamer (UK Import), and Retro. Retro Gamer is by far my favorite magazine. It always has interesting interviews and articles. I think Game Informer is also still running, but I haven't read it in years.
  5. OK, I hear a new issue is on it's way in 1-2 weeks. There was a delay, but I was assured it'll be here soon.
  6. Well, it was late January. I forgot to check back in. So not crazy late, just "kinda late".
  7. Yeah, I finally did receive it. Here's a pic. Hopefully we will be receiving the Spring issue soon. Perhaps this month?
  8. Yeah, but with this last issue costing $10 at the store it would have nearly paid for the full year subscription. If it shows up that is...
  9. Still nothing... And I resubscribed over a month ago when promised I would receive this.
  10. So, has anyone with a subscription received the Buyer's Guide yet?
  11. Thanks for sharing the pic. The loss of issue # is a bit annoying. I'd rather see them not print the date than the issue #. I wonder if they are ditching the numbering system for good.
  12. Update #7 (Setting things straight) OK. I finally received an email from the editor of EGM and he explained everything much better than the customer service reps were able to. So, it appears that the Fall 2014 issue was NEVER PRINTED. So anyone afraid that they missed out on this issue need not worry. Also, as noted above by EGMFan, they did lose a distributor and are sorting that out now. I was assured that they are still in business and working on new issues right now. The Buyer's Guide is shipping now. Here is the complete reply from Mr. Camron:
  13. Update #5 I called them again today (Thursday), and spoke to Trevor. He claims the Fall 2014 issue definitely printed and has sold out. He said he doesn't have information on how many issues were actually printed, but he said he spoke to his supervisor and the issue was definitely, in fact, printed. The EGM Buyer's Guide issue is now shipping. I highly suggest if you don't receive one in the next two weeks to call and request it before that is sold out as well. That being said, if anyone is able to obtain an actual Fall 2014 issue (#265) PLEASE grab an extra copy for me. I will pay extra for your time/help. PS: To the NeoGAF people reading this.. Please help me get unbanned. I'm "Spoonman" on there. Someone lifetime banned me as a joke (?) and I haven't been able to get it removed. Thnx. 14. EGMFan has a much better outcome than any of us. Perhaps he's also a Chewly's Gum rep as well.
  15. I had the opposite experience with those email addresses. It was the egm@emailcustomerservice.com which got me a response, but they didn't know what was going on and the last reply I received said she was going to ask a supervisor and get back to me. That never happened.. So this "EGM Buyers Guide" is being sent to subscribers? There are still do many unanswered questions which they either seem to avoid or just don't know the answers to... Is this new Buyer's Guide taking the place of the Fall 2014 issue, AKA #265 Was the Fall 2014 issue actually produced? Was the Fall 2014 issue mailed out to ANY subscribers? How many actual issues are they planning on producing per year from this point forward? I heard it was now down to 4. Hopefully we can get some definite answers on this eventually. With the information we have is anyone thinking of resubbing?
  16. Nothing on either. I've posted on both and the only replies I get are from confused and angry EGM subscribers wondering WTF is going on with their subscriptions. Steve Harris hasn't even replied to my personal messages and he used to in the past. I don't thing he really has anything to do with it anymore other than collecting a check (or not). I've not heard back from the past 3 emails I've sent since mid October and I was told someone would call me last week.... never happened. So if they are now sending out a "Buyer's Guide", what number will that be?? Also, if there was actually a Fall 2014 EGM issue, which they have claimed to have sold out, and which no subscribers or stores have actually receive, are they going to reprint them and distribute with the new publisher? Any replies from EGM tend to bring up more questions than answers!
  17. I have been collecting since issue #1. It would seem silly to miss an issue now. If they are over with...fine, but if they are still releasing new issues I want them for the collection.
  18. Interesting. I called their customer service line again tonight and they calim they have not ceased publication and even tried to get me to resubscribe, but who knows at this point. It's all a big cluster#&$% They originally told me the Fall 2014 issue was mailed out in mid September and now I was just told it was October 16th. She also told me they are up to the "EGM Special Fall Issue" now, but she didnt have a number for the issue. I was constantly placed on hold for 5-10 minutes while she retrived the information from someone else. I still have not heard back from their email on 10/21/14 On top of this she tried to say I was contacting them too much about missing issues. To which I explained that they should have kept their customers up to date on all of their changes. As well as letting us know when our subscription is up for renewal. First they reduced the magazine from 12 issues a year (This is where the "Monthly" comes into play) down to 6 issues/year, then down to 4 issues a year. So when she said I hadn't even paid for a subscription since 2011 I guess it makes sense. So again, I have no clue what's going on and neither do they.
  19. I actually attempted that, but I doubt he really has much involvement, if any, at this point. https://www.facebook.com/egmnow/posts/4778263510198
  20. That's the only reason I am thinking of re-subbing. I hate not having a complete collection. No offense intended to those who are contributing to the magazine, but I kind of wish they would just officially announce the magazine is over than to run it like this.
  21. Does anyone else think it's a bad idea to re-subscribe for 12 issues of EGM? At the current rate of 4 issues a year this would add up to a 3 year subscription. Just seems a little overly optimistic is all.
  22. You may be right. It's just that the customer service reps in the email and on the phone were very specific to say Fall 2014 and not even knowing the issue number. We'll see. No one I know with a subscription seems to have this issue. Perhaps they just made enough for the EGM staff.
  23. All they are willing to do is to extend the subscription by one issue. Has anyone here received the Fall 2014 issue? According to the "customer service rep" it was shipped out in early September. So I would assume anyone who didn't get it will not be receiving it. I spoke with a few people on Facebook and they didn't receive it either.
  24. OK guys.. here's the deal. EGM Fall 2014 #265 was shipped back in September. Did everyone receive an issue? Probably not because they didn't print enough. I called the 800# and spoke with an extremly rude woman telling me to search eBay for it because they don;t have a single copy left. She did all but hang up on me after I told her I have been a subscriber since May of 1989. This is where EGM dies for me at least, but I don't expect them to go much longer when treating their fans like this.... RIP EGM. From 12 issues a year, to 6, to 4... to 0 (for me).
  25. I actually received my copy of RETRO on Saturday. So I would expect that soon.
